Should we change this forum\'s name?
 

This forum used to have a thread on the World Poker Tour event every week. But, now that there's no longer an official (and barely any unofficial) WPT thread each week, this forum's name no longer fits.

But even removing <font color="brown">The World Poker Tour </font> from this forum's name and calling it <font color="brown">Televised Tournaments </font>would not be quite accurate, since there is now High Stakes Poker on GSN. I propose the name of this forum be changed to either <font color="green"> Televised Poker </font> or <font color="green"> Poker on TV</font>.

I like it. I like short names but how about Televised and National Tournaments or something to signify big buy in 10k plus tourneys should be discussed here.

National tourneys probably not best weay to say it.

None of the 3 are good. This forum is for Televised/Internet broadcast or both cash and tournament games. Calling it yet another tournament forum is worthless.

I like the OP's suggestion of "Televised Poker".

Simple and to the point.

You are correct, <font color="green"> Televised Poker </font> would not be inclusive enough. Even though it's a bit more cumbersome, <font color="green"> Televised/Webcast Poker </font> would be more accurate. However, even that would not cover discussion of some major 10k buy-in tournaments that will never air on TV, as well as of preliminary events and early rounds of a tourney that will only have the final table air on TV (as is usually the case), so coming up with a title for this foum that is both totally inclusive and simple is practically impossible.

So far, I think the best compromise between simplicity and accuracy would be <font color="green"> Televised/Webcast Poker</font>.

Considering the full name of this forum is "World Poker Tour and other Televised Tournaments," I don't think length is really an issue.

It can be shortened to "Poker on TV, etc." in the sidebar.

Poker Broadcasts will appropriately include "Live at the Bike" and other webcasts. "Televised" is too narrow to include other broadcast mediums.
