**LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
OK, still a day away, but we might as well get started.
I was advised by the wife, after she read some of the "Lost" message boards, to rewatch the Pilot episode. Since we're going to find out some important details behind Oceanic Flight 815's crash, apparently the Pilot has some clues/references that will come into play here in the Season #2 Finale. "Desperation" is too good right now to pop in the DVD, so I'll give it a shot tomorrow before the new episode kicks off. |
Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
explain this to me, right now it looks like there are 3 hours of lost tomorrow night, some random lost show at 8pm est and the 2 hour season finale at 9est, is this right?
|
Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
AZK,

Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
what the hell happened to the monster and all the good parts of this show. this season was just a mindless backstory into the lives of people that had no pertinence to the show at hand. some episodes were entertaining, but as a whole this season sucked balls.
hopefully s3 is better. |

Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
To see a 2-minute clip of the finale:
http://abc.go.com/fsp/index.html?channel=Lost You'll have to sit through 1 or 2 30-second commercials first (one usually being for the finale itself). |

I was advised ... to rewatch the Pilot episode. [/ QUOTE ] I have been hearing for several months that the producers were surprised that something has been overlooked in the Pilot episode. I don't know the original source of that, though. I actually just watched the Pilot episode today myself, and I didn't catch anything this time either. Perhaps after the finale has aired, there will be some context as to what to look for. |
Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
So we start these threads a day early now so people suck for a whole day until the episode actually airs? When will that douche get here and post spoilers so then everyone can post "OMG I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL" over and over?

Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
Guys, here's my grand explanation for the show as we've seen it so far. This is based on some really excellent weed and no reading of spoilers.
The island is a giant experiment, run by the Hanso foundation, but it's an experiment run on the research team Hanso sent there, on any random person the island draws to it, and on anybody they manage to steer towards the island and strand there. The 'Others' are just as stuck on the island as the 815 bunch, but they're further along in reaching the goal of the experiment. They may get a few more airdrops or have better equipments and tons of supplies on their side of the island, but they're just a few steps (and a couple dozen years) removed from figuring out the button and finding the question mark. Edit: I suppose I might also add that the boat the others used was already identified as a coastal boat, clearly from the island itself, and that the hope of that small vessel navigating the Pacific Ocean is slim. Particularly since the island is a few hours by plane from any island that had an airport, and they'd be navigating while under the influence of whatever it is that disorients all navigational systems. even ethical ones |

Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
The actual number of original employees among 'The Others' is small, perhaps only 5 or 10, and the ones who've been among the 815 crew (Ethan, Gale, that guy from the tail) might simply be castaways who've been put in michael's poition - held hostage somehow and then turned against new strandees.
|
Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
I think Gale is a lot more powerful than has been let on.

[/ QUOTE ] His name was Goodwin. I only point it out cause I think it may be relevant. |
Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
bison,
While Ethan, Gale, and Goodwin might not have been original Dharma employees, I don't see much reason to think they were just strandees being blackmailed into working for The Others. I mean, Ethan was working in the medical hatch in Claire's flashbacks, and Goodwin seemed to know an awful lot about The Others and spoke as if he was one of them. |

I think he was telling the truth when he said something along the lines of "they'll never give you Walt, I failed, I'm already dead...". |
Re: **LOST 5/24 Episode SEASON FINALE**
By posting this thread over a day before the episode airs you are accomplishing 2 things:
1.) Proving to everyone what an incomperable attention whore you are. 2.) Making it so when the episode actually starts everyone will have to wade through 2 pages of [censored] beore they get to anything relevant. I mean, come on - did you really need the credit for the finale thread that bad? There were plenty of other threads that we could have hypothesized in without you dumbing-up this one. SO ANYWAYS, Since were here, I would like to bring up 2 things and hear everyones opinion. 1.) When Gale was being held prisoner, he told Locke that he was already dead and that "he" didnt tolerate failure (or something along those lines. Locke said "whos he? the man with the beard" and gale sort of laughed and said that the man with the beard was nobody. Any opinions on who "he" might be? 2.) in the same conversation, locke said "god only knows" when saying something about the island. gale replied, "god cant see this island, just like noone else can see this island" (or something to that effect). Is this solid proof that the island is in some way created or hidden, and if so - how? |

[/ QUOTE ] Well you really don't know what he was sent for actually. He lied about everything, so he could have very well lied about that. Also, he's obviously not dead as he was signed to be a season regular for next year. |
