Nut Flush Draw Multiway

With several pre-flop limpers I always bet the flop from middle/late if it's checked to me to buy button, made overcards fold and get a free card. This time I tried a different tactic, but I'm pretty sure that I haven't made the most profitable moves.

SB is 30/1.6/1.13. BB 16.82/7.94/1.48. MP3 47.55/0.7/0.29. CO 68/0/1. (All four after more than 50 hands).

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
3 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, MP3 checks, CO checks.

Turn: (2.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets, BB calls, Hero calls, MP3 calls, CO folds.

River: (6.50 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, MP3 calls, SB folds, BB calls.

Final Pot: 9.50 BB

I didn't raise the turn since there were two fishes after me and I didn't want anyone to fold. The river wasn't a very good card to make more money, but I got two callers (wich surprised me).

I pretty much disagree with every street except the river.

raise everything. flop you have so much equity, turn you have the nuts, river is ok.

Bet the flop, raise the turn. They'll end up calling anyway more than likely if they're fish. Also not a big fan of the preflop limp with A6s.

Would you rather raise or fold?

Fold preflop, bet flop, raise turn, bet river.

*grunch*
I probably would have bet out on the flop.

I think on the turn you should have raised as well. With a bettor and caller ahead, you are likely to get two more BB (plus if anyone after you calls or you are reraised, it's gravy). Going for overcalls, you risk folds (which happened).

Looks like these guys would call any damn thing, so I would continue to push my edge on the river.

I don't hate preflop, but the rest is pretty much a trainwreck.

I always had the same issue pre-flop when I have a suited ace < A8s or a pair < 66 about if I need one or x limpers to make a call. I'm pretty loose at this aspect but I don't have a very high VP$IP (18.01).

Preflop isn't a trainwreck, but it's not a great spot for this hand. I prefer fold. Especially if you play postflop like this...

can we please get more insightful responses to this thread?

we need at least 30 of us saying the same [censored] thing so we can all circle jerk each other for getting this one right.

Nice -

Pre-flop: Limping isn't horrendous here but if you're going to play this hand in this situation without limpers in front it's because you believe it has equity to raise first in.

Flop: Great flop for you, you have equity to bet so bet.

Turn: You have the nut hand and a bettor and caller to you. Raise to build the pot. Drawers will call you on the turn, not the river.

River: Self-explanatory.

Ok, so it might have played differently if with this line but as many famous quiz hosts have said - lets see what you could have won...

I'm not really proving much here because it's easy to bet the flop if you know a heart will come on the turn but in some ways you do know whether a heart will come on the turn. The answer isn't binary though, it's a probability, and you can bet for value knowing that you will get the turn card you want a certain percentage of the time, as well as many other extra benefits.

You'll lose a touch more when it doesn#t come but you make up for that plus more when it does come.

Re: Nut Flush Draw Multiway

my first grunch:

You have to bet this flop. Not only is it for value as long as you get two callers, but you could fold out overcards or a bigger A (although, only A7, A8, A9 are the only likely ones since no one raised preflop)... you're therefore buying outs while simultaneously betting for value.

Turn and river are standard... bet... bet... raise if you get the chance... ship it.
