Won\'t you be my neighbor?

Mr. Rogers was awesome. This video is awesome. I actually got kind of of choked up watching it.... Are his shows in syndication? I want my kids to watch them when they are growing up.

I always thought that old Fred was rather creepy. That whole "Land of Make-Believe" thing was too much for me. I hate cats and the character that did the "meow" thing between every couple of words was awful.

It really is amazing to see this old man do a complete 180. In the end, it makes me sad that someone like Mr Rogers had died and the world is that much poorer for it.

you know what, Fred was not creepy, and you're obviously an idiot. Guess what, KIDS MAKE-BELIEVE, and his show related to children very well. The show also occasionally dealt with difficult subject matter in an environment that was comfortable for small children. Great, you hate cats, no one cares. That's more suspect than anything Mr Rodgers ever did.

edit: just watched the video. you're a prick.

I never liked that show either when I was a kid. The puppets and skits bored me, and the guy was "too nice".

But that video link blew me away.

Very cool to see that video, knowing now how historic the show turned out to be.

I'd insult you, but it would be a disgrace to do so in a thread about Mr. Rogers.

I'd watch his show once in a while. It was never my speed, I was a Sesame Street and Electric Company kid.

Still, as I grew up, I had tremendous respect for the man. His was an idyllic world where the better parts of human nature ruled.

I agree. It was also very weird that he was like 50 and his Mommy still made his lunch for him and knitted him sweaters.

"What do you do with the mad that you feel?"

I liked Mr. Rogers. And it didn't hurt that one of his puppets was named Lady Elaine

wow, that actually brought tears to my eyes a bit. i was playing with my little cousin the other day and thinking about child development and i really now realize what mr rodgers did for kids. the way he talks and teaches is so ideal for kids and you can really tell that he genuinely cares, which is something i would say that is seen in approx 5% of people nowadays.

Wow! It may be time for you to graduate to something stronger than Prozac. FWIW, I have no qualms about letting my kid watch Mr. Rogers, but when I watched it as a kid, probably late 60's, early seventies, I thought that the puppets were creepy and that Fred himself was a bit off.
