God I love Michael Barret. AJ is a little bitch and he had that coming. Barret's gonna get a nice suspension but it's worth it. The Cubs are going nowhere anyway.

I'm watching the Mets/Yanks game. They did a Fox Gamebreak thing and when they came back, Buck and McCarver of course talked about how AJP was just doing his job, blah blah blah.

AJ is so universally hated it's comical. He's like the sports version of Scott Stapp. You almost have to respect how much work it must take to get to that point.

Just saw some post-game interviews. AJ doesn't think he did anything wrong and says he was walking to pick up his helmet which was behind Barrett. Both of them confirm that AJ said nothing to Barrett to intice it all. Barrett is crediting AJ for a great play and says that he just let his emotions take control of him. He says he will respect and is willing to accept any consequences that ensue.

Realize that when both of them were scrambling to stand up AJ bumped into Barrett and, considering he had just had his block knocked off, he was probably pretty confused and maybe thought that AJ was trying to fight him. |

Knocking over the catcher is obviously fine, but AJ deserved that punch the way he "touched" the plate. |

The last two NL champs were swept. I don't think that any of the NL teams this year have a legitimate shot at winning the World Series and I'd give 2 to 1 on the AL winning the series. The Cardinals don't want to become the Braves- much worse when it counts in the postseason compared to the regular season. |
