So I'm just playing on PP with "Summary without chat" turned on when all of a sudden I get a notice in red

I contemplated pushing on the river cuz they have to call me, but 2 of the guys said stuff like "is this for real?" and the other guy is a guy I've played with a lot and barely knows english. I didn't have enough confidence that these guys were smart enough to call with absolute nothing. Heck, a guy folded preflop!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think it was a mistake. Part of it was what I was playing too many tables to really think about correct "Where's Mike" strategy. Not really something I've formulated.

Its pretty much a no brainer. You have basically the pure nuts and some guy promising to pay everyone at the table off to call you.

Yeah its real. I was confident it was real at the time, because I'd never seen someone talk in red text before, I had chat turned off, and observers can't chat.
Yeah, I already got the $500, but yeah, I shoulda pushed. I'm not positive I would have been called, but I probably get called a large percentage of the time.
The guy who had me covered was really really bad. I mean the type of bad where you must have very little intelligence to play that badly. I've also seen him try to conversate and he doesn't understand much English. He may have had no clue what was going on. Both of the other guys said something to the effect of "is this for real?"

eh, I dont think not pushing is as bad as everyone is making it sound. Against some guy who cant speak english and 2 people who are already skeptical, I can see it happening where you push and they all fold. Its not like this promotion is well advertised (Id never heard of it till just now). Tho checking is pretty bad, you should have at least bet something, but you had a read so to speak and went with it. Dont sweat it.

I just had some tables open that I wasn't playing at, and I saw Mike start talking to this one table congratulating them. So I sat down ASAP in the only open seat. Sure enough, they were getting a $500 don't fold bonus.

Unlike the OP though I was going to raise a 9 on the river.

Alright Alright Alright. I regret not pushing. It was relative -EV to check. I understand.
Unforunately, I didn't have my "Where's Mike" strategy formulated before it happened.
WHen Mike came on the table, I just thought "hopefully everyone checks down to see the river"
If I had flopped the nuts, I would have had 3 betting rounds to realize correct strategy. But, I was on about 7 tables, I went runner-runner to hit the nuts. I briefly thought "should I push" then "well, what if they fold - ok, I check"

Don't you ever make those decisions where you realize if you had 10 more seconds you would have made the right decision. The fact that this is the first and last time I've ever been involved in the "Where's Mike" promotion caused this to be one of those cases.

Ohh, where the hell did you get $1200? It was about $550 if I pushed and got called 3 ways.

Hey, at least I didn't fold preflop like UTG.
