Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

It says on the Bodog webpage: "You will accumulate Bodog Poker Points by playing in ring games when you have contributed to a pot that is raked. Points are awarded based on the following table:" and it goes on with a table.

My question is, if you fold pre-flop (and not in the blinds) and other players see a flop and pay a rake, do you contribute to the pot or not? Do you have to actually contribute money to the pot to "contribute" to the pot? Anyone know from experience?

Thanks for the clarifing..

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

You have to actually put money in the pot. This can be playing the hand to showdown, limping in and folding to a raise, or even folding in the small or big blind.

Once you commit any money to the pot you get full credit for the pot regardless of the size. If you're at a $25 no-limit table and two people each go all-in for $50 and you fold the small blind you still get full credit for the pot.

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

It seemed like they would give you partial credit for times you folded, and every orbit, you would get some points. Maybe it just seemed that way to me.

One bonus about Bodog's bonus is, they give you credit every day for time played. Also, you get full credit for tournament table fees paid.

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

Well, you are guaranteed to contribute to at least two pots per orbit at a holdem game....

It's still a good clearance rate, since 3x contributed is about the same as 10x dealt, if not a little better.

I hate this site and I have my 16 yr old son 3-tabling the play money tables to earn points. He can put starcraft on hold for a few days.

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

You earn points on play money that count toward the bonus?

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

Yes, you earn 1 Bodog point per 'table hour' whether it's at cash or play money games.

-------------------
Time spent playing: You will accumulate Bodog Poker Points for every minute spent playing at a table. 1 point is awarded for every 60 minutes of play. All time spent 'playing' (sitting out is not 'playing time') at free games, real money games, and during tournaments counts towards points earned. 500 points earned for playing time is the maximum value that can be accumulated per calendar month.

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

is it 6pts per $1 bonus? so they are paying you 16.667 cents an hour basically.

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

3 points per $1, and the clearance rates are estimated here

http://www.bonuswhores.com/bodog-poker.php

It is significantly higher than $.16 per hour.

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

my bad, its 33 cents an hour. Not signifigantly higher but double what I thought. Of course Im reffering to them paying you 33 cents an hour for playing at a table (if you have bonus $ to clear). You'd be silly to have seen it any other way right?

Re: Bodog Bonus Clearing Question

I was referring to the bonus clearing rates for playing at the real money tables. Sure if you are playing at play money tables, it would be $.33 per table hour.

I'm guessing that most people reading these forums are playing for real $ though, in which case the vast majority of people playing at Bodog are going to clear significantly more than $.33 per hour.

it's the same thing, just don't count that first 50 points into what you need to clear. if in doubt, contact support and they'll tell you.

And how do you know if you've cleared it?

basic math ~ (bonus * 3) + 50

When you have that many points on your front screen you've cleared the bonus.

Finally, I have learned an advanced strategy for bonus hunting. A litter of 8-tabling little monkey bonus grinders is the way to go!
