At least at the poker table you can switch your seat, unlike when you get to sit next to that same guy on the airplane.

We who aren't good at poker still eat at Popeyes, but we wait for the coupons in the mail. Fortunately the coupons don't come TOO often so I can't eat there every day.

I tried this subject as my first post. I meant it to be funny/serious but it turned out that some responders were seriously offended which bothered me. It's really only the truly large people who don't make an effort (like sitting sideways) to accomodate the rest of the players who bother me.

The worst is when they smell too...does something happen to your sense of smell once you break 300lbs or something? Does your ability to recognize your own b.o. just go away or do you just not care at that point?

I got a table change once and this guy actually said as I was leaving, "What do I smell or something?" and I felt a moral obligation to tell him yeah, actually...you do stink!

Yeah, I don't know what the first one was for, but the second was from this reply to the post about when girls tell you about the nasty, freaky stuff they've done before you:

I have nothing against people who are overweight. But if you're inconveniencing people around you, maybe you should go back to the internet. Obesity is not a disability like a wheelchair. It's understood that peoples' disabilities might be an inconvenience. But obesity is a choice. If you choose to live your life that way, fine, but don't make my life harder because of it.

I am in a wheelchair, and it really bothers me that being fat is considered reason to take my parking space up front. Especially when I need to get inside and gamble. Also, I know this not an original concept but, they could probably use the walk from their car to casino.

Note to cardroom manager:

Don't sit me in the game when I will have to use a fishing pole and a craps dealer's rake to play. Reaching past some freaking whale who cannot get his arse in the chair without getting help from a heavy-duty forklift is not the experience anyone is looking for. Just play the table 8-handed or whatever. Don't embarass the Big Mac addict and me by trying to jam another player into a six-inch-wide slot. Give the guy some room, charge him an extra rake and move along. It's especially annoying when you try jamming me in there and then Jabba the Hut orders everything down the right side of the menu and I have to dodge the fork for an hour. Don't stand over there at the desk laughing at us when you park Orca in the 5 bucket, you [censored].

This post really bugs me. I know from personal experience (family members) that some disabilities are not as obvious as yours. There are people with heart conditions, lung conditions, people who have had transplants, etc, and these people need access to disabled parking just as much as you do. My cousin had a lung transplant and for the 1st year afterwords he had a disabled placard and I can't believe the number of dirty looks I saw people give to him when he got out and they saw he wasn't in a wheelchair or obviously disabled. One lady even told him that she thought it was a shame how he was taking a space that someone else could use and she apologized profusely when I lit into her and explained his condition.

As for the OP, the quickest way to get someone to leave the table is just lift yourself off one but cheek and let loose with a big, smelly fart. You'll know you're in trouble if the 400 LB guy next to you takes a deep breath and says "just like my mama's home cookin".

This is too funny. Your the one complaining about someone and you think THEY should go back to the internet? If you can't take the different kinds of people you meet and play with then YOU shouldn't be playing live. I've been playing live for 20+ years and I could care less who I sit next to. If you do care then you've already put yourself in a losing frame of mind. Typical of the antiseptic type internet players. You kids just have no real balls. It's all 1's and 0's, right? Grow up and learn that in the real world you deal with all different types of people and either YOU adjust or you just fail.

Yeah ofcource it is, just like AIDS, HIV, all forms of handicaps, sickness, addictions etc. Why don't we make what the nazis did and try to clean out the non-normal bastards and make a perfect world for ourselvs. We would all look alike, think alike and smell alike, what a perfect world it would be. Utopia for everyone!

I reserve my people-time for those who have actually heard of hygeine.

No wonder you americans start so many wars, you have no acceptance for other people at all. And you must be a perfect looking person right? No flaws what so ever? Atleast now you have one big flaw.

MicroBob 05-22-2006 04:18 AM

Re: (LC) Unappreciation Post: Fat Slobs at the poker table

Huh?
I have lots of acceptance for other people. I just don't like spending my time in super close-proximity (re: practically right on top of) with super-stinky people.

I'm hardly a perfect person. But I try to respect others most of the time and try to practice half-decent hygeine.

I'm not a bad person for thinking that being next to stinky people can be an unpleasant experience.

Some people practically need to be told to go the restroom already and please stop passing smelly farts for the whole table to enjoy.

I am a very imperfect looking person and fail to see what that has to do with any of this.
