Partypoker Maydaze

Lottery tickets for party points. Pretty lame the last time they ran it. 100 points per ticket. 100K give a way. Extra 500 if you can win twice.

Aye, very lame. This wont get the fish to come running in and play. Hell, they're already there.

Its designed to get the fishes points cheaply.

I'm not sure I won't get more value for the partypoints by redeeming for merchandise or buy-ins vs. buying their lottery tickets. Depends on how many are in the drawing. Unless I'm missing something. The rules page is not overly descriptive.

This is a non-promotion - it's another scam designed to get you to dump your Party points. 500 winners only when at peak times there 90,000 players? And a winning ticket is only $200?

And why run it for several days? If you get 60 points tomorrow, you can dump all your points there and then.

80,000 points is worth about $200 in merchandise. I'd be willing to trade 80,000 for that amount, but I'm not going to risk it on a dubious longshot.

I think I'll offer Party $100 to buy one of my lottery tickets for a raffle I'll be holding soon... Anybody want one.

with 8000 tickets, I don't think it's a longshot - actually I think this might be your best oppurtunity to exchange points into cash

Anyone remember how many total tickets were purchased last time? (did they even announce total tickets?)

That is besides the 10,000 tickets that Party purchases.

Re: Partypoker Maydaze

In case anyone hasn't done the calculations...
If value of a Party Point is $.003, then this is +EV if they sell fewer than about 300,000 tickets. (excepting the rare instance of winning two tix.)

Anybody want to correct my math? Any guesses on how many they might sell?

i'm considering dumping all my points on this thing. i've got something on the order of 10k right now, and in just over a month I will be leaving to go on an extended trip (about 8 months) where i will not be able to play poker. so i figure i'd rather have the shot at $200 than some poker book i already have.

Re: Partypoker Maydaze

Not a bad deal for you then. If you are gone that long, they will take your points away anyway.

I got 3 tickets. ... I am going to buy more each day, I wouldn't buy them all at once in case Party screws up the drawing and doesn't count certain days.

I thought they were going to release the names of the winners todat at 5PM ET, but I haven't found anything. Anyone else know what's going on?

I just got a popup that said the name release has been reschuled for tomorrow (May 25th) at 5:00 pm.

"We're sorry for the delay."

Re: Partypoker Maydaze

If I'd known you guys were buying 1000's of tickets, I would've saved my paultry 12,000 points and bought a chipset.

I just kinda figured nobody else would get rid of their points, and I'd win it ALLLLL.

Re: Partypoker Maydaze

People actually fell for this?
It's not like it's a public, fully disclosed raffle - Party picks whom Party picks.
If you dumped thousands of Party points, prepare to be disappointed for the most part. If you dumped more than 80,000 you'll probably win something.
If you dumped relatively few points and are a sometime player, you'll probably win something. Party wants your business.
But I very much doubt the regulars who dumped 30-80,000 points are going to come up winners. The whole point of this so called promo was to get you to dump your points. They wouldn't be holding a "raffle" if they wanted to give you money for your points, now would they?

Like I said, 90,000 players at peak time, 500 winners. Allegedly one million dollars a day in profit, $100,000 given away in this promo. It's peanuts. Don't hold your breath.

I wish the 2+2 community would stay away in droves from really bad non-promos, because maybe then we'd get better ones.

the $100,000 freerolls are the only decent value for partypoints IMO..and even they are like $110 value for generating like $6000 worth of rake
