Is there a reason that it's not in the left-nav? I didn't see this place until I heard mention of it several times and had to browse the forums "normally" to find it.

Both this and LoL should be on the sidebar soon. There's some very complex HTML coding involved to make that happen, so please be patient.

"The Finer Things"
"Leisure Room"
"Culture Lounge"

...and my top choice:

"The DEAL (Dining, Entertainment, Arts, and Leisure)"

Amidst all the complaining about the name I want to say thanks to Mat and others for making this happen. Already some long time forum members who never post in OOT have decided to contribute here, and some interesting topics have sprung up such as BluffTHIS's discussion on art and the architecture thread among others.

So thanks Mat, diebitter, and everyone else who petitioned for this.

This is ABSOLUTELY the point.

One of the reasons TQZ was picked as a title was to make this clearer.

And I still like the Quiet Zone. I already call it 'The Zone' in my head.

I suggest we all take a day or two just to get used to it?

That is your goal perhaps. But the subject matter of this forum tells a different story as far as what posters here have in mind. And the only reason these topics couldn't be discussed in a longer and more leasurely manner in OOT was that they quickly got buried.

This euphemistic name game reminds one of political spin.

Much of the content here was just moved over from the mod-playground Entertainment week.
I'm sure it won't be as ENT intensive in the future. Although certainly there will be a significant amount of ENT I would guess.

I was all in favor of a forum to discuss Art and Entertainment, and generally like the idea of splitting things up. But this name is absolutely awful. It connotes nothing in particular and is so vague as to be pointless.

Hijack: I just posted a slightly amusing poll at OOT and it was moved to a "laugh" section I had never heard about. I also think that's a terrible separate section. Now anything remotely funny is going to be moved?

Regarding Dom's story with Motley Crue - I really don't want to read about some sleazy guy's porn and groupie adventures from the 80s. If I want that stuff I'll go to OOT, I see no need to cross post in the The Quiet Zone.

There's no need to move it or anything but threads like that should be moved in future imo. There are some here who don't appreciate these stories or are bored by them. In TQZ you shold be able to able any thread without fear of reading about scat, wangs or porn.
