Kind of a dissapointment but better than before.

No Dell 2001FP or similar.

This is a god damned outrage. I guess Canadians are just completely screwed? I've emailed them and I'd better get the response I'm looking for.

Hi,I'm Chris and I am Group Marketing Director at PokerStars
As all of you are well aware, we have had some considerable difficulty in replacing the Dell Electronics items in the PokerStars FPP Store.
We are delighted to announce that effective immediately we are introducing a wide range of consumer electronics in the FPP store, including televisions, digital cameras, high-definition DVD players and more, all from top brands like Canon, Sharp, Sony and Toshiba. You can find them at

http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp/store/electronics/

We have signed a deal with a monitor supplier for the US and Canada and we are expecting these to go live within the next 72 hours.
We have also signed off a deal with Amazon.com to offer gift certificates to our US players initially, these should be available again within 72 hours.

Sorry for all the delays and thanks to all for your patience.

So, monitors are coming and Amazon gift certificates too which is awesome since it's basically just money. Canadians seem to be pretty much screwed though .

We needed to launch the VIP items asap and didn't have our Canada products
ready to go. Canada will be taken care of very soon.

For Canadians:

Hello Ryan,

We had to launch the new VIP items before the Canadian products were
ready. We will offer a full line of products for Canadian VIPs very soon.
If you are willing to purchase your own items and email in proof of
purchase. We would be willing to deduct the FPPs and credit your account.

Regards,

Scotty
PokerStars VIP Team

In my opinion, excellent customer service. Thank you Stars.

Re: For Canadians:

Sooo.......

Americans are fine,
Some Europeans have almost something, which I suppose is sligthly better than nothing,
Canadians will 'soon' be fine. (uh huh)
Anyone from anywhere else is basically 'screwed'.

Some people can 'organise' there own deals with Stars & obviously others have not been offered any 'deals' with Stars. IE probably dependent which Stars support person one deals with (sound like any other poker site we know?).

In short, it seems like Stars is now copying the PartyPoker business model.

Confusion, disappointment, lack of consistency..........

Very very disappointing!

Re: For Canadians:

It probably depends on how many VPPs you have. If they know you're going to get to Supernova within the year, it's likely that they're extended concierge benefits to you in lieu of electronics when they can't ship to your country yet.

They (stars) is not the one doing the shipping. These items are coming from the companies themselves and another system has to be in place for out of the country since most of these items have to be shipped from the U.S.

They name a star for you.... you know the ones in the sky. There is some database because there is like 374683264783 stars in the sky you know. And someone sells the rights to name them.

Kinda like buying land on the moon, its useless but its something cool to talk about? And im sure they give you a certificate or something.

I'm pretty sure that talking about the land you bought on the moon would be about the least cool thing a human-being could talk about.

The name a star thing is just a scam. Just some random company who writes down whatever you name some star and call it official. The only legitimate star naming is done by astronomers or whatever, they definitely dont recognize what these companies are doing as offical star names.

Has anybody ordered a TV from Stars? I know nothing about TV's except for the fact that I need a new TV.
Is the Sharp 26" solid, or should I wait till I rack up 20k more points and get the Samsung 32"? Thanks

26 is pretty big. Go to Best Buy or Circuit city and they might even have these, but you can gauge how big the difference is.

Why order a TV from pokerstars versus getting the amazon gift certificate and getting whatever tv you want? The $/pt is about the same.

Recliner 06-19-2006 02:42 PM

Re: Stars FPP store updated.

26" is $900 on Amazon which is 1.525 cents per FPP.
32" is $1328 on Amazon which is 1.369 cents per FPP.
$500 Amazon GC is worth 1.613 cents per FPP.

The clear choice is the GC.
