The Official KotZ 6-handed NLHE Thread

Tonight KotZ resumes with six-handed NLHE. As usual it's on Stars at 9PM ET. For those who haven't received it, I will post the password to this thread in the hour before it starts. Hope to see you there.

This is likely my last KotZ appearance- I live in WA and am not terribly interested in a felony conviction on my record on the extremely off chance they prosecute for online poker playing. I have really enjoyed playing in these the past few years, and hope I get a chance to try it again if/when this ridiculous law gets overturned.

I think the enthousiasm is not there anymore.
In the "good old days" we all knew each other. Today the kotz is full of people that we don't even know who they are in the forum.

What's the difference between that and a normal tourney?

Well, there's still quite a few of the hardcore that come each tourney. I always see some of the old faces at nearly every table I start at. Every year there's some new blood. Every year some of the old guard leaves (lorinda, where are you?). We've always had transients that just play a few and disappear. The threads and trash talking we enjoyed here are certainly not as cool as they've been in the past, I'll give you that.

Also, this is the fourth year. When this first started, if I remember correctly, this was the first regular private tourney series on the net. PokerStars would set these up special for us. Forums like RGP followed and then they set up private tourney feature. Now everyone can set up their own private events, so yeah, some of the novelty has worn off.

I know what you're saying about so many newbies, especially since I've opened up the password to public posting. I debated with myself your very concerns of getting away from the "home game" feel we had the early years by opening it up. The first couple of tournaments this year were huge because of this, but really the last few events have been in the 30-45 participant range we've always had. We've had several new players this year, but some of them have played every event and are becoming familar faces.

I am in this one, I won one of these events in the past, and today it will be a Da Capo!

I predict DavidRoss to come in 2nd.

Where is the Sheriff?

I shot the Sheriff, but who shot the Deputy?

He's here as always, trying to stay ahead of the chasing pack whilst trying even harder to stay awake!

In the middle of moving house at the moment. I think internet access is a problem for the next few days.

Its a good time to take advantage - these things are harder when she plays!

Clearly rigged. AKs<A4s all-in preflop. I play 6-max NL for a living; you'd think I'd do well here. Oh well...

Emarkm,
I can start to cross promote these as well in MTT. Let me know.

Oh, sure. You've pinned my posts before. Maybe we should come up with something more systematic. I hesitate to move the "official" thread, but I could use some more cross promotion.
