Florida Poker Rooms. Still max $2 bet??
Hi, Im sure someone here can tell me if the law in florida poker rooms has changed? When I was there about 14 months ago the max you could bet was $2. Ive heard that they combated this by playing alot of sit n go tournaments. Anyways any information on this would be helpful.

Still max $2. At one point they were trying to close the SnG loophole but, I think, they did not succeed. I wish they would make higher stakes legal, it would be a goldmine.

Each poker room has different tourney/sng schedules.

Can't they at least raise the betting cap for each round to ten or twenty bets?

Are there any rooms in the Miami Beach area? I expect to be around for a night or two in early June.

Re: Florida Poker Rooms. Still max $2 bet??
Anyone know anything about the cruise ships?? I was going to be outside Orlando for a few weeks in June and saw there is some boat that leaves from Cape Canaveral that has higher stakes poker and other stuff.
Does anyone know if they are legit?? Charge a ton?? Have decent games?? |

I've played in Suncruz from Port Canaveral kind of a lot. The cruise is free, twice daily. The rake is pretty high but the dealers are great and so are the games. Most likely you can play some 10-20 LHE or some 2-5 or 5-10 NL (more so on weekends/nights, don't know what the days are like anymore).
Oh yeah, they're legit too. |

Thanks for the info. Do they say beforehand what games are going to be played? Or do you just show up and see? Either in terms of playing O8 or 7Stud or like a lower 3/6 HE. Have some friends who play and could come but couldnt play 10/20. |

both seminole casinos that i went to have sng up to 1000 dollar buyins. The only problem i had with this was the 40 80 and 120 buyins were using those pokerpro machines which suck and im not really bankrolled to run the $500 sng tournaments

Seminole Limit is a frickin fish tank. I'm not sure, but I think they also have 7CS, and Omaha running occasionally (its been a while since I've been). This is in Tampa btw.

[/ QUOTE ] They have 5-10 HE every night (and day), and they get a round-and-round Holdem/O8 game most nights, but it's more often 10-20, only sometimes 5-10. I think they have 3-6 gsames on the weekend nights but they break early because it's all noobs. You can't know in advance what exactly gets going since they spread whatever people show up for, but when you get there they'll have a poker signup board outside or just inside the ship, with all the games on it. |
