For all those who hate USC

Re: For all those who hate USC
That is pretty funny and cool. However, despite being an LSU(A&M) fan and alumn, I do give USC credit for part of the 03 National Championship. I have to be fair about that. I would have loved to see the Tigers and Trojans play. It was (IMO) a legit split national title and both teams were very, very good.
A lot of idiodic cajun rednecks here in Baton Rouge have purple and gold "FUSC" bumper stickers on thier trucks for some stupid reason. I think it just underlies some sort of inferiority complex we have. I can't imagine USC fans and supporters even thinking about having "FLSU" stickers. (Though LSU fans are unfortunately rightfully known for stupidity, ignorance, and player hatian.) |

I think it is fair to say that they accomplished a one-and a-half-peat.

Re: For all those who hate USC
I don't like USC either, but don't blame them for the failings of the BCS.

Re: For all those who hate USC
I like that sign a lot.

Re: For all those who hate USC
Hmm... Good luck to Texas getting anywhere close to USC's (our) win streak. I suspect theirs will be stopped abruptly at 21 on September 9, and then the subsequent streak of 3 will be stopped on October 7.
P.S. 2003 is legit. |
Re: For all those who hate USC
the reason i think [censored] like this is lame is because the natl championship was obviously an extremely close game and it could have gone either way.
UT won and thats great, rubbing it in seems silly. had USC been able to pull out the game my only thoughts about UT would have been, wow you guys played great, glad we pulled it out. |

Re: For all those who hate USC
being the natl champions speaks for itself. anything else is petty.
also, it would be different if it were a blow out. |
Re: For all those who hate USC
I sent these pics to my USC friends. They didn't like it.

Will you make yourself a Moral Victory National Champion trophy if that happens? |
Re: For all those who hate USC
I've always been fairly big into the NFL, but didnt get into college football until this year (College football isnt really covered in Canada, and my roommates got me into it this year)
I know the basics of the BCS workings, etc. Can someone give me a quick rundown/link explaining the LSU thing? Thanks. |
Re: For all those who hate USC
LSU/Oklahoma/USC all had one loss in the regular season. Oklahoma had gotten blown out in the final game of the year prior to the bowls. USC was the number 1 team in both polls, but ended up third in the BCS poll behind Oklahoma and LSU. USC beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl, LSU beat Oklahoma in the championship game, and LSU was number 1 in the coaches poll, USC was number 1 in the media poll.

Follow up Q: isnt the national championship game decided beforehand? Like, this year we knew it was the rose bowl. And, whichever teams are 1 and 2 in the BCS play in that game, right? So, why was USC called 'national champions' if they didnt didnt win the nat. champ. game? Do media polls just count for more? (sorry, but like I said, Im new to this. And it all seems pretty retarded) |

So the National Championship was technically split. |

There is more "officialness" (as I make up a word) to a BCS championship, although not particularly more legitimacy. |
