E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
Any else excited about E3?
For those that don't know E3 is the Electronic Entertainment Expo, which every year provides software developers with a chance to show case their upcoming games. Things I'm hopeful for: -Diablo 3 announced, or if not then Starcraft 2 -World of Warcraft: Buring Crusade alliance race announced -More info on Spore -Duke Nukem Forever info and screens. Weeee... nerdgasm. |
Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
Duke Nukem is never coming out, don't believe anything they tell you until the game is sitting in your lap. I'm excited for anything PS3 (which I hear is not alot, unless they're planning a suprise).

PS3 baby!!!! [/ QUOTE ] True that, havn't really been a console player since the N64 but I'm moving in with some friends next year and getting one of these babies, hope to see some great games announced. Has the controller been released yet? Does it look good? |
Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
No love for the Wii? I'm really hoping this works out for Nintendo because it could be the coolest thing in video games in awhile and there will always be a place in my heart for Nintendo.
Plus downloading old NES, SNES, and N64 games, very sweet. |

[/ QUOTE ] No love from me, the specs sound pathetic, it will have to be incredibly extraordinarily awesome, double-adverbingly awesome, with an awesome new zelda, mario, and/or smash brothers game to win back my heart. |
Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
I don't look at Nintendo from a "spec" point of view. When I think of PS3 and Xbox 360, I think "Oh man that is going to look awesome in HD on my huge TV", but when I think of anything Nintendo, I think "Man that is going to be so freaking fun to play". From a gameplay standpoint, Nintendo is the most innovative and that is what should count the most. So yeah, I am looking forward to the Wii to get my fill of video game zaniness.
On the 360 front, I'm am hoping to at least get a rendered teaser-trailer of Halo 3, and a look at what Madden will be like the first time it is built up specifically for the system (last year it was simply a graphically doctored up version from the Xbox). As for PS3, there isn't much that I am truly looking forward to unless they unveil God of War 2 for it. Sony is the company that, over the last 3 years, has "wowed" me the least. They need to get over the fact that they have the largest installed base and start putting out first party games that don't suck (God of War being the only standout exception to this). |

Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)

Duke Nukem Forever info and screens. [/ QUOTE ] People have been asking to see them for 8 years. And 3DR has already confirmed it's not going to be at E3. |

acoustix,
"On the 360 front, I'm am hoping to at least get a rendered teaser-trailer of Halo 3" You will be very pleased then. That is what I'm most looking for as well. |
Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
Since I plan to by 5 ps3's and a Nintendo Wii, I have high interest in e3. All I want to know is how soon I can place a deposit for a new console.

Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
YES! Isn't G4 tech doing a show on it? Can't wait. Schneids should do his thing where he asks us which games we want him to tell us about.
I'm also hoping they announce the Alliance race and I can't to see more of the Revolution. |
Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
I would be shocked if Gamestop didn't start taking preorders for PS3 right after E3. We took orders for 360 for 15 months before the release and the months after E3 is prime time to start taking them because of the wealth of new interest generated.

Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
Yeah, but I bet that will change after E3 is over. I have been out of the game for almost a year, but out of the 7 system launches I survived as a manager, 6 of them started preordering in the 2 weeks following E3

Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
A ton of xbox 360 content at E3 will be going up on xboxlive. I think this is pretty cool, get to see all the trailers and stuff in 720p, and apparently a handful of playable demos.
Looking forward to footage of Too Human, Gears of War and of course, the Halo 3 teaser. I heard there will be no actual in-game-footage of the PS3 since there are no devkits yet. Will still be interesting to see what's in the works, but all in all means little in seeing it's power (or, lack there of). I hope they release the new controller design though. I have no interest in the Wii. The "revolutionary" controller looks like a pain in the ass. I can't imagine a 3 hours gaming session holding my arm in front of me the whole time. |

If I woulda thought of it sooner I could have hooked up a few of ya with E3 passes though they aren't too tough to obtain anyway. |
Re: E3 Anyone excited? (Warning: Nerdy)
Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! That controller looks like it would be awesome fun to play.

[/ QUOTE ] Gamestop/EBgames are taking no preorders on PS3. They don't want what happened with the 360 to repeat itself (i.e. not being able to fill all the preorders). Next, Ubisoft announced it's list for E3. Looks pretty sweet. # Assassin's Creed (PS3) # Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway (PC, PS3, X360) # Dark Messiah of Might & Magic (PC) # Enchanted Arms (Xbox 360) # Open Season (X360, Xbox, PS2, PSP, PC, GC, GBA, DS) # Rayman Raving Rabbids (PS2, X360, Xbox) # Red Steel (Wii) # Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent (PS2, Xb360, Xbox, PC) # Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (PS2, X360, Xbox) Lastly, if you have a 360 and Xbox live, during all of E3 they are introducting a marketpalce just for E3. It will allow you to play the demos that are at E3, and watch the trailers that are there. It should be sweet. |
