Go to the order form link in the left column and you'll find it near the bottom of the page. Any copy ordered by itself through this site or through www.conjelco.com will be shipped before any of the bookstores get stock.

Awesome review by Chan, but I think he's wrong that book will sell big time. It'll make money even if the ban hurts everyone's sales.

Amazon just wrote me and stated this won't be shipped out until mid January. (I use Amazon due to GC balances)

Hopefully that is incorrect.

It's probably correct if you chose the free shipping option. I placed an unrelated order last week which they say won't be delivered until after xmas. So if MOP won't be released til end of Nov -> delivery mid Jan. You could try asking for expedited shipping.

Re: The Mathematics of Poker

Probably. The sequence is printer -> warehouse -> you as opposed to printer -> warehouse -> distributor -> you.

I am not uderstanding Amazon right now, I preordered in July and have free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime and it is not supposed to ship until January. Does this seem right?

Re: The Mathematics of Poker

They don't know when they are going to receive it. Once they have it in stock it will ship normally. If I had to guess, I'd say that they will be receiving it about December 7. Certainly no more than a few days after that.

I think that they are being cautious.

If you order it today and order it without any other books it ought to ship Friday or Monday. Delivery time will depend on the service chosen.

Not their fault. We originally expected this book to be out by July 31. It's our slip, not theirs.

Chuck:

You need to do what Amazon does. Take your best guess at a publication date, add 6 months, and post that. Then when you publish the book 2 months "early", you look like a genius.

Ship from where? I ordered it through Amazon before i understood that Bill and Jerrod would make more if I ordered it direct from Conjelco. Amazon is now giving a ship date on my order of January 4.

Re: The Mathematics of Poker

Sorry. To be more explicit:

If you have a back order from ConJelCo that consists of only the Mathematics of Poker it will most likely ship from our Kansas warehouse on Friday or Monday.

If you have a back order from ConJelCo that consists of the Mathematics of Poker and other books it will ship from our Nevada warehouse, most likely about Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

If you ordered from Amazon, I can't tell you exactly when it will ship. I imagine it will be the end of next week before Amazon receives stock.

Chuck if i order this today thru conjelco as my only book it will ship friday or monday no delays??

imported_Chuck Weinstock 11-30-2006 11:58 AM

Re: The Mathematics of Poker

I don't want to absolutely promise that at this point. It depends on how long it takes the warehouse to get the orders shipped. People who have ordered prior to today have already had their orders processed and sent to the warehouse so that they could prepare for shipping in advance.

New orders might not make Monday but certainly should ship early next week.

At the risk of sounding humorless, Overland Park, KS was #6 on Money Magazine's best places to live for 2006. It's really a nice place to live.

Quite the contrary. That was a very humorous post. I didn't know Money Magazine was into such subtle humor either.

Yep. It ranks even higher than Eden Prarie, MN which is 10. That's probably because Math of Poker will get there faster!

That's even funnier. I guess those folks at Money do have a sense of humor.

Do the people who make up those lists ever visit the places they are ranking? I think not. They just go online and compare statistics for "quality of life" factors. I currently live in the Twin Cities area, and have spent a lot of time in the KC area (including Overland Park). I would not consider for a nanosecond voluntarily living in either.

I'm surprised they didn't have Boulder on there, like most such lists do. The only good thing about Boulder is that it is so close to Colorado.

Really? Eden Prairie is a little cookie cutterish (but better than Utah where I've lived or small town Idaho where I live now). But other than that and the winter climate I'd rank it reasonably high. I didn't live in Eden Prairie, but did work there for a while and lived in the eastern part of Bloomington for about 5 years which is almost the same. Different strokes I guess.

Re: The Mathematics of Poker

These little polls/surveys on 'most liveable city' and so forth should really consider that some people actually would prefer to not live in a cookie-cutterish suburb strip-mall area.

Probably should add in a "risk of killing oneself due to boredom" factor to the study.

NoChance 11-30-2006 06:07 PM

Re: The Mathematics of Poker

I lived in Eden Prairie prior to moving to AZ in Aug 2005. It was a great place to live because it was just outside the "big city" but had a "country" feel to it. However, I never actually ever did anything inside Eden Prairie itself, it is just in a good location to reside where everything you need is just a short drive away. I worked downtown which was not a horrible drive unless it snowed... Canterbury not far away... Airport not really that far... etc....

imported_Chuck Weinstock 12-01-2006 10:56 AM

Good News/Bad News/Good News

Good News: the books made it to the warehouse yesterday.

Bad News: a fairly bad snow storm hit the area yesterday and last night. Upwards of 11 inches.

Good News: I don't know how they managed it, but the warehouse claims to have shipped a lot of books yesterday.

It's possible (though given the weather I would not count on it) that some of you will see your book arrive today. More likely the first books will begin to arrive on Monday.

Thanks for the info Chuck. As always great job dealing with us gotta-have-it-asap types. I just got mine an hour ago. So they did get a few out despite the weather. Looks good can't wait to rip into it.

Got mine today. Very fast since I didnt place my order till late night wednesday. From the initial look at the book I have a feeling that its going to make me feel very stupid. I look forward to it.
