Wake up and smell the toast burning. Party's decision is a harbringer of things to come. Look carefully at the announcements of the other poker rooms, and you'll see they're mostly citing this mythical "270 day" window (or some near term period) . . . Look at the financial markets pounding the IG stocks. Some of this is clearly panic, but these people aren't idiots.
This bill is not as ambiguous as everyone is making it out to be (see the professor's statement on the bill earlier). Once the regs get prommulgated, the federal bureaucracy will enforce them. Will there be holes? I'm sure there will be some. Will they be big enough to drive the current e-poker business through? The answer clearly appears to be no frickin' way.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think it's time we move past all this self-rationalization that "everything's going to be ok" and time we started figuring out how to move forward with a legal/political strategy.
