I'm clueless when it comes to nutrition/health. But from what I've always heard is that you shouldn't snack between meals (that's what my mum said). Big breakfast, small lunch (optional), medium dinner... what gives?

[/ QUOTE ] basically eating continuously keeps the metabolism high, since your body needs the food to work...having a long time between meals is basically a short fast, where you body has gets nothing new to work with so it slows down its work...eating more frequently will also keep you from getting hungy thoughout the day... |

[/ QUOTE ] Adding to this is the fact that during long periods of fast (starvation) even for 4 hrs your body will start to catabolize muscle tissue. This in turn slows down your metabolism. |
