Just wrote my hardest final and about to pretend to work on some ridiculously huge assignment. Perfect time to be bombarded with questions.

Can you start it off with just a little stevepa "poker story?" most of us know it, but for the benefit of those that don't.

Yes. I haven't posted in a while since I've been trying to come up with something for a 2000th post. I failed miserably and made this one instead.

What would you put the odds at for you defending your PCA title?
Will you buy me a beer when you come back to Kingston?

What is your best game (other than NL holdem)? Your favorite?
Were you pissed that your professor didnt reschedule your final exam so you could play in the WPT Battle of Champions? Seemed kinda dickish to me. Any back story to this?

stevepa,
what would say are the most important steps in making the transition from a good player that's successful at up to $50 MTTs to a great player that do well in $100+ MTTs? In other words, what separates the merely decent from the very good? Ignore the obvious stuff like "study hard and grow strong", "practice practice" etc plz.
As an aside, what kind of games do you play besides MTT, if any? Does it help, hinder or otherwise affect your MTT play?

I started playing poker in January 2004. I'd played with friends for quarters in school before then but never really taken it seriously at all. My brother and uncle were both playing and doing quite well so I talked to them, they gave me a couple books and a couple hundred dollars and I started playing $0.50/$1 limit on Pacific. That was basically the best game ever and I ran stupidly hot. I slowly moved up to 3/6 or so and started playing some tournaments. I basically ran super hot at everything I played and in January 05 was playing 5/10sh and some tournaments.
Running hot continued (2nd in empire 200k, 2nd in 100k at pacific and 4bb/100 over 25k hands at party 10/20sh) and I slowly moved up more. I always sucked at actually putting in hours so I was a little slower than a lot of people at moving up. In the summer of 05 I actually had a downswing(!!!) taking a shot at 30/60 and losing 200bb's in short order. That kind of made me hate limit and I started playing more tournaments (although still not nearly as much as I should've). I qualified for Atlantis almost by accident after failing miserably to win a seat on the Party Poker Million Cruise and then luckboxed my way to winning that.
I'll add to that if people are interested in hearing more.
