So, if you move to Canada or the UK, you'd still have to pay taxes the US gov't? [censored]. What if you gain dual citizenship or simply revoke your US citizenship? I want to play tax free! A true leach on society!

The Observer column is a gossip/news thing the Poker column (which is very good by the way) is in the Guardian. The hendonmob site links to them from this page

In Canada if it is your only source of income, it is taxable.

Comes down to expectation of profit.
