December Low-Content Thread
      #13198012 - 12/01/07 05:58 AM

I haven't played poker in a while because I've spent the last 3 days -- and I mean virtually 3 days straight -- shooting what could be one of the greatest game shows of our generation.

Of course I'm biased, since I wrote the goddam thing (or part of it), but seriously. Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap.

I just got home from the finale... it was a 6-episode run shot over 3 days, working about 14-18 hour days. You can read about it here, but basically it's Who Wants To Be a Millionaire meets a poker tournament.

I'm gonna do a big OOT thread about it when it airs (Dec 17) and I hope people watch it. All I did was write the questions (along with a few other guys), but man it's intense. Wow. I'm still getting over the high... easily the coolest show I've ever been a part of. I'm still stunned by the ending.

Anyway, carry on with the poker stuff.

joker, this sounds like a show I could win all of the dollars.

today's session after midnight was a brutal rollercoaster where winning a couple dollars never felt better.

I am so horrible at poker. Last night I was playing Commerce $20-40 with a few players who were much better than average, but not playing like it, a few horrible players(of which I was one), one retard-maniac who hit 3 outers or less against every single player at the table, and eventually one very good player. My image was crap and my pf raises got 3-5 callers. Would have been awesome if I had any chance in hell of hitting a hand. Anyway, after an awful run of cards for about 4 hours, I finally had the indignity of this hand:

I raise UTG with 99. Horrible player calls, retard-maniac calls, tilted good player calls, very good player says hes gotta crack my hand and calls. Flop is J 6 2 . I fire and all call except very good player. This one of the dryest boards of all time and I have no clue what these boobs are calling with. Its important that a couple of these guys have called me down a few times with top pair. Anywho, turn is a 4 completing the rainbow. Checked to me, I check, horrible player bets, both others call. I think. I'm thinking about how the heck anyone of these guys has anything. I finally settle on that someone has to have a weak J. So I fold. Thing is, normally I'm gassing this all the way and value betting the river. Bleah. Like I said, I'm awful at poker. Anywho, the river is 9. Woo freaking hoo. Horrible player bets, the other two fold(wtf?). I tell the dealer that I'm done, pick up my chips, and leave minus 40 or so BB.

so last day of november i lose 14k or whatever in another failed attempt at high stakes online poker. i swear to god i am like a lifetime -7bb/100 loser at 100/200. this capped off yet ANOTHER month where i win like 150+bb and end up actually down $$$ for the month. i wish i had all my data and i could graph it but if there was two graphs, one being bb's, it'd be a steady climb up, but change it to $$$ it'd have crazy spikes going up and down and usually ending right back at the x-axis or below it. it's hilarious to see they're both my graphs.

anyways, pissed off from last night's bitter session, i went to the casino for the first time in forever. brought 2k with me, i was down to my last $50, made a pretty amazing comeback and was actually up a couple hundred bucks. i contemplated leaving then but i was like, wtf i didn't drive all this way to not win big, so i kept playing and 20 minutes later i was busto and driving home. oh, this is blackjack btw, looool, who goes all the way to an indian casino to play poker?
