I use to run into 'lag' issues with FTP+PAHUD but I found the culprit. (at least for me) If I left PokerTracker Ring Stats open, it'd cause lag when it updated my stats. I closed that window and only left the 'auto importer' window open and the lag issues went away.

See this post.

The big things for me: 1.) PostgreSQL, and 2.) Set PokerTracker priority to low (there used to be a script to do it, but it F's up in Vista, so I just do it manually through Task Manager now each time I start it up).

It's been virtually unplayable for me today. I don't know whats going on. Every time I open PA hud i get the "There are a large number of hand history files that are being processed. This may cause PA hud to run slowly." Even though the database cache is, supposedly created. Also, the full tilt client constatly uses around 75k or memory or whatever, and my fan is always going at full blast. My computer sounds like a jet taking off. Anybody have any ideas?

I plan to buy a new computer, duo 2 core, then quad core. I think that the new updates are programmed for modern PCs only. Their Mac software requirements are for the most modern models.

That will free up a minimal amount of processing power but I think everyone who is MTing already has animations off, some other ideas that would help a lot more...adjusting process priority, optimizing PT import interval, changing to windows classic theme (biggest help), restarting FT during breaks, switching to PostSQL, cleaning up databases, have PAHud cache only the database you are using..

This helped a lot, I'm able to play on FT now w/o lag.
