N00bs and rubes, NL is a game where we can be playing for stacks on any given hand. You should find within this thread various methods of getting your stack in the middle. Open to all, post your awesomeness here. Enjoy!
Requirements for posting hands in this thread:
1. Hero believes he played the hand well. 2. HERO MUST WIN AT LEAST 80 bb's. 3. Post only converted hands and remember to post results. 4. It's also very nice of you if you can take the results out of white, so we don't have to highlight to see them. 5. If it's not obvious why you played the hand the way you did, give a quick reasoning.
So, if you play a hand that qualifies over the weekend, post it here and share the joy. Weekend starts now and runs through Sunday night.
I'll start with an example hand. I had to dig it up out of my archives because I've been on hiatus from cash games this past week. I do plan to play this weekend though, so hopefully I'll have some legit hands to post.

I get real lucky with this flop. The only thing I think I did well was to adjust to the play of these two villains. Both villains are overaggro, playing about 40/10 and going after a lot of pots. I'm playing about 22/20, letting them win the small pots and playing big ones only when the situation warrants. I felt like any show of strength by me would shut them down and so I let them do their thing.

This one is pretty straightforward really. I think it was set up 4 hands earlier when I was BB and the entire table limped and I raised big (had AK) and everyone folded.
Range for villain is a big PP with the PF reraise, but villain misplayed this badly IMO. This is a great example of how not to play a big PP (not that many 2+2ers play them this way...).

villain is about 40/10. I'm 22/20. He's been reraising my positional raises quite frequently and so I've been calling and playing flops.
hero has $240 villain has $159.93 hero has 5d 6d and raises $8 on the button villain raises $8 hero calls
Board cards [2 3 8 ] villain checks hero checks
I'm not sure what villain has at this point. We've been going at it quite a bit and so his range is pretty broad. No cb here 'cause I've been playing pretty passively, letting him win the small ones and I don't want to get check raised.
Board cards [2 3 8 4 ] villain bets $18 hero raises $40 villain calls $40 and raises $40 hero all in villain calls villain has Queens hero wins $318.86 with Straight 65432

Flopping quads is always nice. Is it no strategy in this thread? Kinda curious as to what people think of my preflop play, I'm in the BB and there was a raise and a reraise before me(although not big raises). Pop it to about $10 or just call like I did?

I have a very good idea where I am vs. this opponent post-flop. He is very straightforward and I float liberally vs. him with no resistance. With the button here I was happy to call (within the 5/10 rule.)

6 max has been ugly to me lately, so I decided to go back to my good ol' friend full ring today.
It was pretty hard to make myself play 15/10, but I love the results.

700 hands tonite after midnite, net result: -$1. Woot. Only one hand during that little session to report. Poor guy, was in a lot of pots. When I was involved with him, I raised him off his hand about three times in a row and he folded. So, I guess he chooses to make a stand here. I was pretty sure he had an ace, and I didn't think he'd lay it down to me, so a little flop slowplay on a safe-ish board in case one of the other 60/15's wanted to come along:

Although I really really hate the monster I must admit it certainly seems like it has brought with it some new donks. Here are a few gems from tonight.
This donk just got stacked a few minutes ago and sat out while he was no doubt depositing more money... Anyways...apprently 9 high on the flop is the new set - holla!!

I was expecting BB to try to take the pot away here and was surprised when he checked behind. He's pretty aggressive and made an awful bluff at me before, only to catch a 4 outer on the river (and not get paid off).
River: A ($31.75, 2 players) Hero checks, BB bets $30.65
I figured this meant two things: whiffed flush draw (which I can see him checking behind on the turn to give himself a chance to hit) or he cooled down on the turn with a weak ace that he thought had showdown value, and now figured he was splitting at worst. But hey, BIG BETS ARE BIG BLUFFS ZOMG LOL

Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 4 players Converter
Stack sizes: UTG: $12.75 Button: $32.65 SB: $4.40 Hero: $26.85
Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is BB with A A UTG raises to $0.85, 2 folds, Hero raises to $2, UTG calls.
Flop: 6 J J ($4.1, 2 players) Hero bets $4.1, UTG calls.

River: Q ($25.6, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $25.6)

The point is at these stakes (applies to NL $50 as well and perhaps NL $100, but both FR and 6-max) play a big pot with AA. From the beginning of the hand when the action got to me preflop my goal was to get this guy's stack. He had about half a buyin, but if he had a full buyin I was probably going to try and play a big pot with that also. People show down some pretty absurd hands at these stakes, so get their money when you have the best of it.
By the way, I'm sure a lot of players here already realize this, but I wanted to share it anyway as I've recently come to this conclusion myself.

Also, I though villain would do the job for me... which he did... with his "power-house" hand...

My image is pretty laggy right now. The last 3 orbits I've been raising and calling raises probably close to 50% of the hands.
The hand is standard, but fun none the less due to my table image.

This was my 2nd hand at the table. It barely qualifies but... this was only my 3rd flopped set in my last 100+ pockets so it was doubly sweet.
I don't normally check a strong hand, but in this case my hand is vulnerable to someone making a bigger boat so I wanted to try and get all-in on the flop. I figured someone with an A is going to make at least some kind of bet at the pot so I wanted to be able to repop big enough to guarantee an all-in by at least the turn. I also figured there was a chance that an A might check and someone might bluff at the pot and I could trap some extra dead money in the pot.
When the flop went down like it did I figured both for an A. When I checked results I was pretty stunned, but I sure wasn't complaining.

I had bet CO out of a hand before, and apparently he wasn't happy about it. I thought about 3-betting the turn for a little bit, but I thought that would make him fold the vast majority of the time. Since there were not too many scare cards I didn't want to see on the river, I opted for this, though I'm not sure I would've liked it if he had just called the river.

BB is a standard TAG. Probably a 2p2er. ABC player, and a good player of standard lines, but doesn't go beyond that. Iv'e won pots from him by simply min-raising the river. When he put his chips in, I knew exactly what he had. Thanks to my winning this pot, he is now -$20 for the last 5000 hands I've observed/datamined. Gotta love inflicting downswings.
Button is new, but appears to be very bad. Overvalues pairs, too bluffy, etc. Probably learned from watching WPT.

Loose preflop, but the table is passive and I've been running them over. I realize I probably should have bet more on the turn the second I bet. I use that turn underbet to simulate a river all-in from a busted heart draw to get paid. Without the river 7 I probably c/c any bet on a non-draw card. I think I made two very small mistakes in this hand but got Button to make a big one.

When all you have left is 1/3 the pot, betting half of it and hoping for a raise is just silly. He calls $4.15 anyway with 100% of the hands that he will raise your $2 bet with here (i.e. he is never ever bluff-raising).
This guy thinks his 2-pair raise here is a value raise. He's not folding it if you lead for $4.15.

A very satisfying session, after going two weekends without winning any huge pots.
Hand 1 was very situation-specific. Just 5 minutes earlier, I had KK in consecutive hands and took down two decent-sized pots without showing. So it looked like I was trying to run over the table. Ordinarily, I would've likely folded but this seemed like Villain trying to push back. Could've easily been a donkish read on my part, thankfully it wasn't.

I guess you are right. I've been using this as my default move for a while, because I feel that at 10NL, if villain wants to get it in, he'll push it in. But he could still call a smaller river bet. The problem is that I don't really get in this situation often enough.
I'll try pushing it in the next few times I want to extract from the nuts.

Wow, I agree, Villain played this poorly. His first raise is too small to get anything to fold, and his second raise should have been a call. He clearly has the implied odds on his turn 14-outer even if he only sees the turn, and he has very little fold equity.
Maybe he's silly enough to think the over-cards are outs...
