Krantz is telling me somebody on Townsend's IM directed him to this link: ww.tiltmine.net/ niner.ex(not finishing the link so nobody accidentally clicks on it). Leaving it broken at places. We have reason to believe it's not Townsend (he's not responding to some people he always responds to while trying to get Krantz to click on this link).
BE CAREFUL BEFORE DEALING WITH ANYBODY CLAIMING TO BE RUGBY OR DURRRR. For durrrr details go to this thread

Hardware firewalls, good passwords than are changed regularly, spyware/antivirus protection that scans 24/7.

I think the dude just has a connection to AOL, basically can get anyone's password.

from my understanding, easiest things to do are to have different emails for each poker account, and for AIM.
also having a different password for every site/email/IM account is a help.
and never click on random links in IM's.

if thats true, thats incredibly scary... wtf AOL? passwords are supposed to be private. i didnt even think that most sites/services had access to your actual password because of encryption and stuff, but i could be wrong.

I doubt this is the case, passwords are never stored in a usable format.

there is a >50% chance this is all the doing of stevedapimp, aka steve coleman.
the fact he has not been arrested and charged for identity theft, extortion, and fraud at this point is beyond me. or killed.

i don't know about whether stevedapimp has anything to do with this in particular, but why haven't we as a community organized to complain to the FBI cyber-crimes division about him and the other hackers whose identities we know. it seems like theres a good chance we could make these people go to jail, and that would be pretty awesome.

Geeeez this seems crazy,
I know most of you HS on-line guys communicate/know each other and the pool of players seem to be getting smaller and smaller due to less fish and the gaming act last Oct and whatever.....
But with all this internet BS going on of late(AP hole card scandel, hacked AIM accounts, players using/sharing other accounts or names so you dont even know if your playing that person, the pokerstars "VOID" multi-accounting issue, the time and trouble of getting your money off-line,ect.)
With all the $$$$$ you guys keep on the these sites(and I am sure its substantial),and all this recent BS...doesnt it seem that the risk/reward has tipped the scales against you?
Or do you feel these games are still profitable enough and to still out weigh these incidents?
It seems there are less and less games available,...and MORE and MORE scams and non-sense going on now?
Sucks

I got hacked 1,5 years ago when playing b2b. Guy in chat asked for cash, I did not respond. After a while he started calling me by my first+family name (on b2b a player can have basically how many account he/she wants. This account was 2 days old and I had not told anyone about it, so basically people could not know it was me), he wrote my addresse, Email and that he will take my money. Everything in the chat. I'm not very good in poker and even worse with computers so I did not know what to do except panic. Log out, call my friend to change my password, write an Email to support saying I hold them responsible if any money goes away from the account in any way and that the IP number I'm Emailing from is the only number I ever log in from, from now on. Same night in msn a guy claiming to Mikael Thuritz(I don't know the real M.T) starts writing me, my msn Email is not the same as my poker Email. This turns out to be the same guy now saying he is coming to kill and that he knows where I live. No I panic even more, not because I belived him but that someone obviously was in my computer. Check my Email, still no answer from support. Right after "Thuritz" logs out I get added by [Eail]24hpoker@ support.com[/Email, which is identical with their support mail. Ok finally, I thought. The conversation started normally, they would look into it and value my action and bla bla bla. Then all of a sudden they write.."you really don't think we will help you do you?" I go.."what?" It turned out to be the same guy again, this saying how he would kill he. I took pictures of the chat with the addresse he was writing from, pulled the plug to my computer and asked my friend to Email support together with the pictures. If they did not want to help me before now surely they would, right? Wrong, got one answer from them and have not heard anything from them. Ok I'm not a highstake superstar like Sbrugby but on b2b the player pool is quite small and a 5-10/10-20 and occasionally 50-100 (on tilt obviously) player is much more valuable to them compared to the same player on Stars for example.
Point of my post is,
1) Never play b2b 2) Get different Emails and passwords for everything 3) Start using Gmail and NEVER hotmail
After starting with number 3 Ihave never experienced any problems

Yes, looks like this to me . Same guy who hacked Neutrality about one week ago. (FTP still investigating that case)
http://www.neverwinpoker.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44963
Orig. 2+2 Thread about this guy http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...art=25&vc=1
I'm also surprised no serious action has been taken about this guy.

yeah I was hacked into earlier last month, and luckily I got to it before the guy could do anything. This website is where you could post your case, and I mean they didn't help me cause it was only 500 dollars, but for you guys they probably will do something since you guys have more to lose. http://www.ic3.gov/
I hope this helps, and I know what you guys are going thru, I had to change all my private info and such a hassle to deal with. GL.

if you guys dont want to get hacked, dont make your security question guessable.
i.e. favorite band? answer - brianna banks
make sure they cant guess your answers, that is the only way they get a hold of emails etc. i also block everyone not on my list which is a hassle at times but better in the long run

That blows my mind too. Surprises me that some hot headed poker player that gets hacked/defrauded doesn't go crazy on him.
I guess it's only a matter of time.

The last time there was a SDP thread, i said the exact same thing and it was just completely ignored. Why does nobody here report him??? Except no, nobody does anything, and then the next SDP thread pops up and somebody says the exact same thing again. If you're tired of hacking attempts, or even the threat of an hijack, then you have nobody else to blame for not doing anything. There's more than enough personal info online and evidence against SDP that pointing authorities in his direction would be very very simple.

What security questions is he guessing the answers to? I went and checked the AIM site to see if they had security questions for AIM for individual accounts and didn't find any.

OKay i am offically offering my services to all you high stakes pros.
You can stake me with x dollars and call me with a password (spoken) and verify your identiy and then tell me the person to transfer your money to.
I have never been hacked and have not had a computer virus (unintentionally) in 5+ years as an engineering service.

1. Remove all your hotmail, yahoo, gmail and similar email accounts, Don't ever use them anymore!
2. Instead use https://www.hushmail.com/ and move the poker related stuff to this mail, do not use this to comunicate with friends and family, use another hushmail adress to those things.
3. Use a passprahse instead of a password: http://world.std.com/~reinhold/diceware.html
4. Do not install AIM, MSN and similar programs on your poker computer, if you must run it do it on another computer with a different email adress then the one you use for poker.
5. Disable Windows'Universal Plug n' Play Support http://www.grc.com/UnPnP/UnPnP.htm (Recommended by FBI)
6. Disable Windows' Messenger Service. "In addition to being a security risk, Windows'"Messenger Service" is being used to "Spam" Windows users across the Internet". http://www.grc.com/stm/shootthemessenger.htm
7. Use one of these 3 Anitvirus programs (I prefer Nod32): Nod32, Bitdefender or Kaspersky.
8. Use hitman pro 2, a collection of all the best security softwares. Download and push "start" and it will run and update all the programs automatically + buy the full version of "Spyware Doctor" and Nod32 both are included as demo. Most of the other programs are free . Also buy SUPERantispyware (I don't think it is included). Run hitman pro 2, Nod32 and SUPERantispyware everyday!
9. Use Outpost firewall PRO, zonealarm pro or COMODO FIREWALL (free and one of the best firewalls), I prefer Outpost F. P.
10. Use No script for firefox, "Winner of the "2006 PC World World Class Award", this tool makes Firefox the safest browser around." https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
11: Install McAfee siteAdvisor for Firefox and IE: http://www.siteadvisor.com/ PC World ranked SiteAdvisor at #15 in "The 100 Best Products of 2007.
12. Download CCleaner, a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. http://www.ccleaner.com/
