KK faces CRAI - Standard but somewhat instructive spot
      #12758716 - 11/01/07 12:13 AM

25NL first orbit at table.

I raise KK utg to $1, full stacked villain 3-bets small to $2.85. I decide to call in position.

Flop: Jd 6h 3h.

Villain checks, I bet 3/4 of pot. Villain snap shoves.

Simple exercise: What is villains range and do we call. If we don't call, what range of hands are we calling with?

If it helps, I do not have the Kh.

Any reads on villain? I think his range is not that wide. The small 3-bet really makes it tricky, it could point to a scared J-J or QQ trying to take down the pot PF. A-J, Ah-Kh or some kind of flush draw and AA are possible. I doubt villain has a set unless its J-J here, seems donkish to me. Call and pray a heart doesn't hit.

Isn't this almost always a draw of some sort? Don't standard villains take a little more care to get value out of their made hands, especially when they don't have time to get a read on you saying you're spewy?

I expect to see AK/AQ of hearts here very often.

Yeah just 4 bet pre. His rr is so small and you want to get more money in pot when you have the best hand. A lot of 25NL players are incapable of folding QQ or JJ here so just pop it up.
Flop is a snap call. If he has AA all the money goes in however you play it, and if he has JJ suck it up and reload.
IME, this is AK usually, with or without the heart draw.
