A couple of days ago I decided to create the ultimate video collection and 4 days later I am ready to quit.  Majority of my time was spent creating an alternative link to download these videos from. That was my main purpose -- to preserve the videos since most of these file sharing hosts would eventually make them unavailable due to various reasons (lack of download activity, time limits, etc).
I started out with the Official Video thread in the Micro Stakes forum, the master stickie as well as the SSNL stickie. Then I proceeded to search for the video threads in both forums. I have to admit that I didn’t include every video that I came across, although originally that was the plan. Some didn’t have an audio commentary and some lacked “instructional” component. Unfortunately, I was late and some videos have already vanished (I believe some jonyy6788’s, goofyballer’s from the top of my head). These videos cover the one year period. There are currently ~83 videos archived. I haven’t watched all of them and cannot really guarantee the quality of play in some of them. If there’s anyone who objects to my mirroring of their videos please let me know.
I am not really happy with the way I organized the videos, there’s no real chronological order just groupings of videos by 2p2 names. I may tweak this a bit later on. I feel like such a librarian…

It seems like I may've hit the bandwidth limit on my host while FTP'ing files to the server. I haven't used this host for a long time therefore had no idea what options were available to me. Also, guys, if you decide to download videos please try the original link first, and then the mirror. This is will ensure that the original link stays active and mirror will serve as a fall back.

Well, I guess I was naive to think that folks would use the original link first. Someone with a download agent decided to scrape all videos at once denying others the opportunity to have access to these files. I think my bandwidth limit is like 25GB per week or even month. Of course it's convenient to use a direct download link instead of waiting on megaupload or rapidshare. Maybe future video makers can host with places like zshare.net.

Unfortunately it's my hosting plan, so you would have to wait it out. However, the original links for megaupload and other hosting sites are still functional. There's no reason not to use them first. This will ensure that they will stay active as long as people are downloading from them. I understand that it's not very convenient when you have to wait a certain amount of time after downloading one video but that can be bypassed by renewing your IP with your internet provider.

Has anyone thought about sharing the videos with bit torrent? The files should be reasonably popular which would most likely result in a good transfer speed.

Some of the files have generic names.
Would it be better to add twoplustwo or 2p2 before the file name?

Thanks a lot for the videos! I'm not trying to be picky, but here's a suggestion... It might be better if you labeled like what site the video was made on, like on Stars, FT, Abs, or Party or sometheing.

I am looking into creating a torrent for these. I have about 70% of the videos at this stage, but should have them all in about 3 weeks.
Does anyone know what torrent sites would allow poker videos? Believe it or not, most don't, such as Mininova.org. I know that PokerBay does, and I have an account there, but registration is limited, so that probably will not be a good option for most people.
Any comments?

I removed the links to the mirrored files to encourage folks to keep the original links alive. Once a file "expires" I will mirror the video on my site. This way I won't go over the bandwidth limit. Everyone wins.

The only problem I see with public torrents is keeping the seed alive. If the demand is high the torrent will live. So it really depends on how "popular" this collection will become to guarantee torrent's success.
