Weight Brag :D 25 down, 5 to go!!!!

Hey all,

I posted a brag about losing weight awhile ago in the hopes that it would keep me motivated to make my weight loss a brag, and not variance.

I'm happy to report that at my fattest I was 200 pounds. I'm now 175 When I was 200 pounds my gf asked me, Jared, what weight would you like to be...I told her I'd feel way better about myself if I was 170 pounds. So....on that day, I started my weight loss journey. 5 POUNDS TO GO

I got a bunch of pm's last time about how I'm doing it...and here are "my secrets." It's 2 step.

Step 1: drink only water (alcohol is ok if you're going out to get drunk) but stay away from juices and pop etc. during the day. Those liquid calories sure add up.

Step 2: It's ok to go out to eat, but just eat less. What I mean by that was last time I went to McDonalds for breakfeast I had 1 egg mcmuffin and 1 hashbrown and a water. 6 months ago I would of had 2 egg mcmuffins, 1 hashbrown, and an orange juice. Also I try to "fill up" on the healthy things in a meal, instead of the "fatty things." For example, say my gf made corn on the cob, steak, mash potatoes and gravy. I would try to fill up on the corn, THEN eat some meat and potatoes.

It's pretty easy to lose weight if you just don't order food for 2 people just for yourself at McDonalads for a while.

Thanks man.

Instead of getting a foot long turkey today for lunch at subway I got a 6" and I didn't get any salt pepper, oil, or vinegar. Also instead of getting ranch and honey mustard as dressing I just got honey mustard

My name is Jared, and I tried the subway challenge (mostly for comidic value I was 165ish) I failed MISERABLY gaining like 3 pounds, LOL

Good work!

You're advice is spot on! Drink lots of water, eat healthy foods. You eventually develop a taste for good food and fried fatty foods begin to sound gross. Alcohol is my one leak as well, but I don't do it that often so it's not bad.

Another tip: Don't keep unhealthy food in the house! If it's not there you won't eat it.

Ok, I'll include my brag as well: was 224 about 3 years ago, 162 now and I've been lifting for the last 8 months.

College : 170-175

A year ago, 195!!

Around the holidays (Turkeyday - New years): 180

Today: 168.
Goal: 160

Oatmeal every morning, salad every lunch, and whatever for dinner (usually soup cuz I hate cooking). I still will go grab a burger and generally don't care what I eat. I still drink beer, I'll still eat chips and salsa while watching a ballgame. I just don't overdo it.

I try to run 3-5 nights a week. I take a 15 minute walk during lunch every day.

Basically, eat less, eat healthy, and excercise. You don't have to be a health nut, just don't be retarded. It's really quite simple.

OP: how much water are you drinking per day?

I've never had weight problems (I'm only 18, been at 155 +/- 5 pounds since i was about 14). I drink a ridiculous amount of water (about 5-6 liters/day). I think avoiding the "liquid calories" as well as water filling you up a little is a valuable tool to any dieter.

I drink Propel sometimes as well, it is like 30 calories for a liter bottle.

I go through 3-4 nalgenes a day. Those are a liter, right? On really hot days 5-6.

You know those big cups, that are usually for beer (guess mug would be a better term). I usually drink 3 of those a day. Probably not as much as you do, but way more than the average person I bet (guessing there).

Eating a snack right now, instead of my fav potatoe chips, I'm eating a bannana

I didn't start to have weight problems till 20. After I left school and stopped working out semi regularly.

I really, really like oatmeal. It's delicious, quick and easy (even the non-instant gotta boil and let it sit kind, which is how I roll), healthy, and it fills you up.

On weekends, though, I gotta rock my eggs and toast.

Good Work!

My weight brag is actually going the opposite way. I'm 20 years old, 5'11 and just hit 195lbs which is the heaviest I've ever been. I've been going to the gym about 4-5x a week lately, eating a lot of protein (including shakes and bars), and trying to cut back on the junk food and booze. I really need to do more cardiovascular activity, but I'm pretty happy with what I've been accomplishing lately so far, and definetly pleased with my results.

here at work they make their own, so it depends. When they make the red vinegarette well, I'll have that. sometimes it's much too thick and I'll rock balsamic vinegar.

they'll also sometimes have a balsamic vinegarette (am I spelling that right?), but not daily, and it isn't always top notch.

On a rare occasion I'll be in the mood for sesame oriental.
