Over in the mod forum, we were thinking about how to better highlight sticky posts so more people read them. Our first thought was changing the style sheet to alter the text color/font of the title, but that's a lot of work for forum code we may not be keeping very long. So, in the mean time, we can pretty easily change the color of the push pin. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to take part in this life altering decision:

Blue

Green

I voted <font color="green">green</font> &amp; <font color="yellow">l</font><font color="green">i</font><font color="yellow">g</font><font color="green">h</font><font color="yellow">t</font><font color="green"> g</font><font color="yellow">r</font><font color="green">e</font><font color="yellow">e</font><font color="green">n</font>. But they look REALLY similar on my screen.

If I had a 3rd choice, it'd be <font color="red">red</font>.

P.S. I can't resist using &lt;color&gt; tags when talking about colors. I'm sorry yellow+green doesn't equal light-green, though. I'm leaving that color-jumble above, just the same; I spent too long typing it to delete it now. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Grellow?

Well, red seems to be the current front runner. In the mod forum, there were concerns of a red pin blending in with any /images/graemlins/heart.gif or /images/graemlins/diamond.gif icons starting posts, making some other color better (grellow was leading the pack). Less of an issue than speculated?

I think it should be an image that somehow screams "Read this! It's important!" For me, a thumbtack doesn't communicate that regardless of color.

I voted for Lt Grn for this very reason. It looked like it would stand out more. IMO, of course.

No one ever uses this icons. Almost every post has a yellow icon.

Could they be made to flash? ala the PM Notification.

I'm sure they could use an animated gif, but I can see this getting very annoying. I can't seem to neglect that PM notification without putting myself in danger of a seizure.

If you want the board to be obnoxious, why don't we just add a sound function so that it says "Hey! Read the stickied thread!" We could used Gilbert Gottfried's voice.

If you press "Esc," the animations cease.

I wasn't going for obnoxious, but that's a cute idea. No wonder you're a Mod. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will always support any proposal that involves Gilbert Gottfried.
