Somebody on my myspace posted this on his bulletin... what is the explanation? YOUR AGE BY sex math

I didn't think this would work and I'm not sure why it did but it really works and it's one of the better ones to re-post.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read ...
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have sex

(more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756 ....

If you haven't, add 1755.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number

(i.e., how many times you want to have sex each week).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2006) IT WILL WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

it will work next year, just change 1756 to 1557, and 1755 to 1756.

It's simple algebra with a bit of obfuscation. Call the first number you choose x, which is a number between 1 and 9 (it doesn't matter if it's really the number of times you'd like to have sex or not). You then do a bunch of calculations on it, and end up with:

50 * (2x + 5) + 1756
= 100x + 250 + 1756
= 100x + 2006

2006 is the current year, so subtracting the year you were born gives your age. Assuming you're under 100, when you add that to 100x you get a three digit number between 100 and 999, where the first digit is the first number you chose and the last two digits are your age.

That's the "already had your birthday" case, the other case works out the same way.
