I think a sticky or link about the rules of WW needs to be made. Otherwise its gonna be hard for new players to get in as nobody wants to feel like a newb and ask a ton of stupid questions.

Apolyton (http://www.apolyton.net/) - one of the major fan sites for the computer game Civilization.

The Diplomatic Pouch (http://www.diplom.org/index.py) - one of the major fan sites for the board game Diplomacy. There's a 2p2 game going on now.

Thangorodrim (http://www.thangorodrim.net/) - hub site for the roguelike game Angband. I dunno if I'm the only roguelike fan here, might be a few other geezers who'd appreciate it.

Sudoku.com (http://www.sudoku.com/) - one of many online Sudoku sites.

RPG.net (http://www.rpg.net/) - I see somebody's got a D&D thread, rpg.net is a biggie in the role-playing games world.

FIDE (http://www.fide.com/) - homepage for FIDE, one of the world's major chess organizations.

Chess World (http://www.chessworld.net/) - one of about a zillion free online chess sites. The ICC (Internet Chess Club) is better, but they're a pay site IIRC.

Post link suggestions to go in the link sticky here /images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Remember that we can't put any commercial links in a sticky. It's seen as official endorsement from 2+2, and therefore free advertising. (The paid advertisers get pissed.) This certainly means no merchants, but also any site which survives on ad revenue.

Now, the sticky can link to threads which link to commercial sites. Fer instance, we can have a thread called "Where can I buy boardgames online?" and then link to the thread in the sticky. That way we're showing the community's opinion, instead of 2+2's.

This was a major problem in the Software forum; everyone should buy PTracker and PAHud, but we couldn't outright say that. You can see our compromise (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=5167733&an=0&page=0#Post 5167733). Mostly we just couldn't discuss paid software.

Ah, didn't know that, sorry. From my suggestions I think the sudoku one has a product they sell and rpg.net has ads, so ignore both of those. The others I believe are OK.

Lots of these have ads, and notice that I didn't include the sudoku one in the sticky!

Ads are OK as long as they aren't competitive with 2+2 advertisers
