modifications to hi-lo stud strategy in super system 1?

I've been playing party .5/1 stud8 while waiting on my main games. I'm new to the game and the only material I have for it is the hilo stud section in super system 1, which was written for the game without the 8 or better restriction. How close to correct is the strategy given in there? I know my one way high holdings have more value, but I don't know exactly how to adjust my play to take advantage of this. Is this a case of "read the real book" or are there some simple changes that I can make to ss's strategy?

I'd just get zee's book, I'm semi new to stud but I know its a whole different beast when you add the qualifier.
