I know a guy who claims to be an online blackjack pro.

As far as I know, it's impossible to play +EV blackjack online, correct?

According to WoO (http://wizardofodds.com/bossmedia) the Boss Media's single deck BJ has a player edge of 0.11%.

How? Depth charging?

I thought Online BJ was reshuffled/continuously shuffled per hand and thus uncountable?

You don't need to count to make a BJ game +EV with basic strategy if its single deck with liberal rules

How is the number of deck's relevant if you're not counting?

What about these sites with "live" webcam bj, shouldnt it be real easy to card count these sites? Spreading your play across several accounts/sites perhaps it would be possible to evade detection for a while?

But otherwise, you can in theory make $15/hour playing the boss media single deck game (i imagine u would get banned sooner or later though, although ppl have played max bet for several days and nothing happened), plus whoring other sites, no reason you can't make a living playing BJ online.

IMHO Your better off playing low stakes poker, however.

The smaller the number of decks, the smaller the House Edge. Single deck with liberal rules (S17, DOA, DAS, SP4)would actually be +EV with basic strategy (or hand-composition basic strategy).

Once again, how does the number of decks affect the house edge if you're not counting? I'm not arguing, I just don't understand how it makes a difference if you're not counting. My understanding was that obviously less decks is ahuge advantage to a counter, because you have a better idea of what cards are left based on what cards you've already seen, but if you're not counting, how is HE affected?

Basic Strategy is partly based on what cards have been dealt (the cards in your hand and the dealer's up card).
Basic Strategy is kind of counting 3 cards. So if you are only going to count 3 cards, Basic Strategy is more effective when it is going up against 49 remaining unknown cards vs a 6 deck shoe of 309 unknown cards.

Example - you are dealt 6,5 and the dealer is showing a 6. Basic strategy says double down. What is the chance of getting a T for 21?

In single deck - 16 tens/49 unseen cards = 32.65%
In 6 deck shoe - 96 tens/309 unseen cards = 31.06%

The other +EV game is Playtech blackjack switch. The game itself has a .05% house advantage, but most Playtechs offer .1% cash back, so it's actually a .05% player advantage. While the Boss casinos that offer the single deck game have a max bet of either $100 or $200, there's a few Playtechs that have $500-$1000 max bets, so you could theoretically make more per hour at bj switch.
