They're probably tired of getting their clock cleaned for $100 by everyone who paid $15 to sign up.

This part seem pretty contradictory to anyone else? I'm pretty sure its a one-time fee, hence the 'no recurring fees' part. Just nitpicking here.

Anyone know if the $15 PPA/$100 party bonus is done with (because of this new thing)?

Good catch. If it's $20 per year then that should mean there ARE recurring fees because you would have to pay $20 EVERY year...

That's what I'm assuming, this message replaced the message that used to say get a 20% bonus up to $100 for joining the PPA...

No, it means $20 gets you a 1 year membership and they won't AUTOMATICALLY charge you again next year!

BTW... I made a withdrawal today and it popped up the old $100 bonus for $15 membership... they must be in the process of switching over...

Anyone who hasn't done this yet, do it now!

Eff Party - this thing is a joke; it's just another chance for them to market poker to the masses in a thinly veiled way. If Party wants to buy politicians they can do it with their own money.

It still works at 20% to $100 (7xrh) as of 2 minutes ago. If you havent' done it yet, I'd do it NOW!

I just deposited for the 20% up to $100 and it wasn't credited to my bonus account. I shot Party an email, so we'll see what they say. I am Finnish though, so maybe the bonus is still open to US players, dunno.

Awesome. My point exactly in the "poker legislation" forum. But then again I'll take anything they'll give me at Party. I'm not site-choosy anymore. But, Yes, they should have just said it was a $80 bonus. The rest is pure crap until I see results.

i think lobbyists are the way to go. this is a good income for alot of people and needs to be protected if some politician tries make a name for himself by making internet gambling illegal. other politicians won't vote against him because they won't want to take the heat of being seen as a gambling supporter unless they have a reason=$$$

I cashed out some of my roll 2 days ago with party and got the 20% up to $100 for joining PPA offer. I joined PPA yesterday, deposited $500 yesterday, but saw no activity in my bonus account. I emailed support yesterday and got no response.

After over 24 hours, I called Party support and after being on hold for 10 minutes got quite a surprise. Support guy told me I did, indeed, enter the correct code and he was putting the $100 into my bonus account. I was already resigned to the fact that I would get screwed out of my bonus so it was nice to get a positive outcome with my new friend from Bangladore.

I posted this in another thread shortly after the first bonus went up.

The Poker Players Alliance is a real non-profit organization and is very much needed to help defend the game of poker both online and offline.
They need members and donations to effectively lobby for the game of poker to be regulated both online and offline as oppose to prohibited. The board includes poker pioneers such as Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Greg Dinkin and Mary Magazine who are committed to keeping the game of poker respectable and legal. Poker is an American tradition that needs protection and that is what the Poker Players Alliance has been organized to do. The threat to poker is real and the Poker Players Alliance is not a scam; it needs members and donations so please sign up. You can join for as little as $15 and there are no recurring fees or dues, although additional donations are welcomed.

that may be, but how many other lobbying organizations have corporations that are willing to pay you to donate to them?

any politician who accepts campaign contributions from them is opening themselves up to scandal a la Jack Abramoff.

What does this have anything to do with PP supporting the PPA?

bigalt
01-17-2006, 05:35 PM
it's basically a coroporation (party gaming) funneling money into a lobbying group (which the abramoff scandal has brought new attention to, with all the indian casino gambling money going through im).

2easy
01-17-2006, 08:19 PM
abramoff was a real jewel mostly because he took money from the tribes and then did his level best to see that they got nada, as he took money from others with competing interests.

also, the taint of involvement with him wasnt so much because who he took money from, but how the reporting was done regarding the money he disbursed.

Anyone sign up for the current "bonus".

$25 no restrictions. No restrictions mean no playthrough requirement?
