So I was playing this game at the 4 Queens a few days ago. Basically it is hold em. You pay an ate, get some cards, pay double to see the flop and the ante to see the turn and river (twice). You win and get your bets (not ante) payed Even in the drunken stupor it required for me to get in on this game, I managed to do quite well over about an hour. I know this is short sample size, but is this game not very beatable?
Essentially you wager 25 to 20 or 5-4. Shouldn't you be able to play any hand that is 5/9 against any random hand to win on the long run?
So you win

A good thing to have in mind all the time...NO casino game is beatable. They are not idiots.

i've found that this game is much more beatable when playing heads up vs. the dealer, and sometimes with one other person at the table - when there's a full table, hands like ace-high lose a lot of value and i tend to leave at that point and look for an empty table (meaning, i dont play it much after 1pm as most tables are occupied by then) .... just my limited (<50 hours) experience with the game

Isn't the dealer's hand random, or am I not understanding the rules of the game?

I don't really understand how an Ace High hand would lose value if there are more people at the table. If you could explain your reasoning behind that it would be helpful.

On a side note, I was playing this game @ the Monte Carlo 3 weeks ago and an interesting hand came up. The board was Q9766 and my buddy had Q6 and was pretty pumped. The dealer turns over QQ... I was speechless and he was steaming. The dealers name was Ju if that makes any difference. He rivered us every time after that and we soon left with nothing.

My buddy actually got so pissed that he played a hand blind, calling the ante, betting the turn, and betting the river. he turned over T5 unimproved and lost to 68, pair of 8s on the river.
