Anyone know if this is legit or if they autorenew it or if there are more fees, etc, etc... if not, this seems like an easy thing to do, 80 dollar net bonus, plus a T shirt, ha

Only thing that would keep this from being a hot deal would be if it was a 20x bonus or some crap.

Bueller???

Edit, heres the URL ... Spam? (http://www.pokerplayersalliance.com)

I smell scam.

EDIT: Did some searching on it...may be a legit organization, but I would still wary of anything I would have to donate to.

That's pretty smart actually.

I'm sure this alliance is going to take some funds for administrative fees and send the rest to a political action committee that just happens to have an office right next door and a name like Poker Players Alliance Action Committee. They end up getting thousands of members and party poker just shifts some of their political spending to bonus spending.

I would guess the chances are it's legit and that you'll be seeing it every four months or so

I don't see anything about the party bonus.

It popped up for me on the deposit confirmation screen when I deposited for my 15% to 75 bonus just 15 minutes ago... the one that usually says like "Transaction successful - Set your own limits" or some garbage I never pay attention to.

FWIW, PPA seems like a legit organization. Linda Johnson is apparently on the Board of Directors. Here is a Cardplayer article about them:

http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_news/detail.php?p_id=608

If indeed they are, and you have a stake in the legality of poker/online poker, might be a good idea to join.

Edit: Hah, they accept Firepay and Neteller for their membership fee!

It's not a pop-up. Just deposit, and put your 10 digit registration code in the bonus code field.

FWIW, mine showed up as "elapsed" eventhough it has an expiry of 30 days from now, but from past experience this can usually be cleared up with an e-mail to support.

The "PPABONUS" has become active from 23rd November. As per the standard terms and conditions of the bonus promotion, if you cash out any amount from your PartyPoker.com account after 23rd November, but prior to making a qualifying deposit, you become ineligible for the deposit bonus.

I have checked the records and see that you have made a cashout of $2317 on 23-NOV-2005 03:22:11 and then you made a deposit of $500 on 23-NOV-2005 19:23:37 using the bonus code, PPABONUS(which is the qualifying deposit after the cashout being requested).

Hence, as one of the terms and conditions of the bonus promotion was not followed, you account was not issued with the bonus "PPABONUS".

Unfortunately, no. SNG play gains you 'party points', so if you have a bonus that says "earn 225 party points and receive $30!" then it will work, but regular deposit bonuses like this one, you get nothing for SNG play.

Check the T&C. A lot of these say if you make any withdrawal during the bonus period, you lose the bonus. Each of them is different, you'll have to determine which ones you have and which order to play them.

A little late to this thread, but better late than never.

The Poker Players Alliance is a real non-profit organization and is very much needed to help defend the game of poker both online and offline.
They need members and donations to effectively lobby for the game of poker to be regulated both online and offline as oppose to prohibited. The board includes poker pioneers such as Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Greg Dinkin and Mary Magazine who are committed to keeping the game of poker respectable and legal. Poker is an American tradition that needs protection and that is what the Poker Players Alliance has been organized to do. The threat to poker is real and the Poker Players Alliance is not a scam; it needs members and donations so please sign up. You can join for as little as $15 and there are no recurring fees or dues, although additional donations are welcomed.

You can join for as little as $15 and there are no recurring fees or dues, although additional donations are welcomed.

Its my understanding that they will ultimately be looking for annual donations!

This is a solid group of poker players. Linda Johnson is an overlooked outstanding ambassador to the game of poker. Besides I like my shirt too

Has anybody who joined last year for whatever amount paid the same amount again this year? Something like a membership/recurring fee?

Poker is an American tradition that needs protection and that is what the Poker Players Alliance has been organized to do. The threat to poker is real and the Poker Players Alliance is not a scam

How do they intend to deal with the issue of blackjack, which has now been added to the Party Poker tables? Blackjack pretty much shoots down any lobbying they might be able to do with poker (game of skill, no house edge, players competing against each other, etc.)

They don't need to. They're advocating for gambling in general, just poker.

You can't advocate "just" poker when the blackjack table is integrated into the poker table.
