I was thinking that with every post there could be a comment box or link to comments.
This would be a place for all the nitpickers and know-it-alls to comment on all the stuff that doesn't actually matter to the OP, but somehow still makes up a signifcant portion of all threads.
That way threads don't get hijacked as much, and people don't have to be exposed to the all the jerks who just post one liners, FYPs or personal messages between members.
(This is mostly for Other Other Topics, but it's disease-like affliction has spread to other forums.)
Kind of a tangent control mechanism.
