I have the e-check deposit option which is free which is very nice. However, it requires you to provide your SSN. This really does not tickle my fancy. I just don't feel comfortable giving out that information. Anyone have any thoughts on it or past experiences with this deposit option? Thanks in advance.

It's standard. Don't sweat it. I've done it numerous times.

But, as been reported many times in this and other forums, the company they use seems to debit your bank account twice. Don't know if they have fixed the problem or not.

Is it available for cashouts yet?

IIRC, Neteller required a ssn also.

I wrote to PokerStars support with some questions about this. Here is how it works:

Your withdrawls have to match the source of your deposits whenever possible. In my case, I have used first E-passporte, then E-checks, to deposit.

Let's say I deposited $100 with each method, ran my account up to $500. Now I want to cash out for $200.

The first $100 cashout will have to be run through E-passporte. Starting with dollar 101, you can use the E-check option to get the money returned directly into your bank account.

PS says that the reason for this is to guard against fraud.

I think at the beginning of Neteller they didn't, but that soon after it was required.

I'm not too keen on giving out my SS either. However, PS seems like a reputable company. Anyone else out there with experience using this deposit option?

A local guy has done it a lot and never had a problem. I am going to do it as soon as I set up another banking account so I can keep track of my poker "expenses" from day one.

Um, we had to give Neteller our SSNs. Stars is as reputable IMHO.

I remember that but stopped following it..Isn't that just a withdraw method on FTP???? E-checks on Stars go both ways(I believe I have not made a w/d from Stars since I depositted with E-check)
