I realized I didnt post how badly I played this river, I bet $15 here and folded to his shove, yay me /images/graemlins/frown.gif, but the question remains the same

Flop bet is good (I'd bet a little more), you should probably check that turn / call a small bet, the 9 isn't really a good card to double barrell, he's never folding a pair. As played c/f the river for sure.
