raise flop to ~$10

raise more on the turn (~$16 is good as played - we want to make it close to a pot sized raise)

then we can call river - as played river is an easy fold.

For the first of what will be many times. FOLD PF

As played kinda a mess, raise flop, turn OK i guess, river probably fold, but I'm not very good

I'd raise the flop after he leads, but raising waiting for the turn is fine. I'd make it $10-12 on the turn if i flat called the flop but that's nitpicking really.

Fold the river and save the hero plays for later.

Saying fold pf isn't helpful. I think the raise to isolate the limper is fine. Im raising the flop here mostly, but not dead set against the flat call. Gotta raise the turn more, i agree with matrix, $16 looks good as played. The overcard hitting gives his limp calling range a ton more equity, plus he could easily have a gutter. Id fold the river as played, putting him on something like KQ/KJ/QJ/J10

FWIW I'm never folding this hand vs a 28/3 fish who I can outplay heads up in position postflop.

Raising to isolate here is fine and pretty standard.

This is a standard open from CO as long as BTN isnt a lag. Definitely raise this flop, whatever pot is just take a couple of bucks off that and there you go. Then make a 3/4 bet on turn so that by the time you get to the river, there is little to no decision.

"Fold preflop" is imo pretty useless to say, if thats heroes way to play then so be it.
Alltough i dont like playing slowplaying medium pairs.
I hope you didnt call the river.
