If a fire breaks out in a fertility clinic, whom do you save — a Petri dish with five blastula or the two year-old child?

Already done in politics. And wow, was that a mess.

Er, not to put a damper on things. Maybe it will be more interesting here.

I save the kid because, er, blastulas are kind of hard to anthropomorphize.

Both. And yes, I know I'm ignoring the restrictions of the OP. We did this recently (I thought it was here, but it might have been in Politics).

How many blastula can the two year-old child be expected to co-produce during their lifetime? More than 5 I'd gather, especially if he/she went out of their way to do it.

I chose the child, obviously.

If for no other reason (althought there are a ton) I can go with the toddler for suffering reasons. No nervous system = no pain.

whats the chances of the blastula actually becoming children. Remember they don't always become children due to the artificial fertilization methods correct?

What is the two year old doing alone in a fertility clinic?

I like this question.

It's petty in a really satisfying way.

Fertility clinics routinely throw approximately 1000 blastula a day in the trash. The only people who care about blastula are George Bush and far right conservatives. Oh yes, and people who can use them for life saving stem cell research.

Yeah, it was in politics (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=4684652)

Now let's never speak of this again.

Ah, yes. Just read through it again and I'm still pleased with my answers.

And that [censored] who thought I was only 15 kinda welched out on that wager....

BCPVP,
I believe that you are about 20 or 21 correct?
Just curious.

You really shouldn't be. In general, avoiding answering questions by making (in general, very irrelevant) analogies or asking counter questions is not a good way to argue. Even if you're right (which, in general, people who employ this argumentative style are not) your credibility basically disappears right there and no one will take you seriously when you're not discussing rationally.

Hope this helps.

I think a better question is, could the progress of science cause A to be the unequivocably better option in the future?

Wow, analogies and counter questions have no place in debate? I've never heard that before. I didn't avoid answering the questions, I avoided giving them the answer they wanted. Nice job trying to mischaracterize what I said, though.

Good answer, pvn.
