Topic says it all. I'm getting a little better than 3-to-1 (3.25-to-.80) but the stack-to-pot ratio is only 2 to SB and MP is altready commited. I know i made a mistake by calling the 3bet but after i made that mistake would it be profitable to call for setvalue against the SB ?

no reads, just sat down
Hero (UTG): $10
MP: $3.07
CO: $5.57
BTN: $4.46
SB: $10.22
BB: $10.01

Pre-Flop: 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif 2/images/graemlins/club.gif dealt to Hero (UTG)
Hero calls $0.05, MP raises to $0.10, CO folds, BTN calls $0.10, SB raises to $0.50, BB folds, Hero calls $0.45, MP raises to $1.30, BTN folds, SB calls $0.80, Hero ...

raise pf or fold. and no it would not be profitable to call for set value here unless you believe SB will stack off here every time you hit a set. I doubt he will.

What does the stack size typically need to be to have set value? >11x the raise? This gives you room for the times he doesnt stack off when you hit?

I fold. SB is probably shoving any flop and for this to be profitable for simply set mining you need to stack SB and there is no guarantee that its going to happen. I'd watch goofy ballers video, he talks about set mining in these kinds of situations. Pretty eye opening.

he's still gotta be strong towards stacking off like every time you hit your set. and just because you hit a set doesn't mean you will always win at showdown. if he has AK he's hitting the flop 1/3rd of the time, not nearly enough to make calling there with 22 profitable.

0.8 is a little bit less than 10% of what SB has left to bet and im getting 4-to-1 not 3-to-1 (sry).
~11% of the time you hit your set
when you expect to get half of his chips on average and the money from MP($2.7) you have total implied odds of ~$9.5-to-.8 ~8.42% odds to ~11%

making it an unprofitable call

was that correct?
