No great read of the Villain, but usually this is a spot I love: just a little bit worried when he istant called my shove....

you min bet and he shoves right? These converters muck up a lot.

Lines looks fine, judging by his half stack he is prob a donk, probably saw he has 2 blacks cards, and 2 black cards on flop.
88, A8, A6 or QQ is just a total cooler but thats full tilt /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Don't minraise him on the flop. Raise to about $2 and snap call his shove. He has already bet more then 2/3 the pot on the flop so he likes his hand. He's either calling or shoving against your raise anyway. You have to get it all in.

I'd raise it to 1.8$ INSTANT call a shove.

This is really standard, if you lost it sucks but meh, just move on, there is no way you can fold here.... ever.

Yes, the minraise is stinky. If you swore to never minraise you would almost never be hurting your play and you'd usually be improving it.

In general I like 3xBet as a raise, and I see no reason to do anything different here. Make it $1.80 to go and snap-call when he pushes. You're up against combo draws FAR more often than sets -- I see A/images/graemlins/spade.gif x/images/graemlins/spade.gif instapushing this flop, and against that hand you are a big favorite. He could also consider pushing with a strong ace or two pair, both of which you have blown out of the water. If he happens to have 88 or AA then you double him up, but even if he WASN'T relatively short-stacked I'm still happy to get all-in on this flop.

Don't look for monsters under the bed; just put the money in the middle. If it went wrong this time just shake it off and do it again -- in the long run, all-in on this flop is EXTREMELY profitable for you.

Thanks guys for your answers: I needed to check my line and you did it.
Pokey you got the point (as always): I'm improving as player and this means playing EV+ spots without always thinking to the worst case.
Pocket 8's is scaring but basically after I put him on a range I must play against that range not again a specific hand.

There is NO WAY you can put him on 88 here - he is going bust with a lot of As and probably other combos. Apart from the minraise - this is fine.
