Dear experienced smarter people,
Tonight, with my BR crossing over a certain threshold, I decided to take a shot at 100NL. Immediately I felt something...the games felt so much fishier than 50NL. On my first table I lost my whole stack shoving KK on a Qxx flop. The guy turned a Jack for QJ 2pair. Feeling disgusted, I tried to take the night off, but being the degenerate gambler I am, I decided I needed to drop 5 buy-ins or win a little back. At my next two tables I had a guy calling me down with a naked 33, I had people chasing 2 overcards vs. my straight. I saw so many limp-calls preflop it completely baffled me. I couldn't even raise from the SB without a spectacular hand because I knew that 2 of the 3 limpers would call my raise, and one of those guys would call almost any c-bet. I didn't make it all back but I made back a certain amount of my loss.
Was I just getting lucky with tables, or is 100NL attractive to fish? I thought that maybe the fact that it's 1 dollar blinds is so simple and distinct that fishy players can say "Okay, 1 dollar. One dollar is fine, I'll put in 100 and play 1 dollar blinds." It's a round, even number. Maybe I'm over-thinking it, and I just got lucky, but let me know.
Additionally, if there are any tips, beyond what's in the stickies, that I might want to know before taking another shot (I'm sticking with 50NL for a while since getting burnt on that KK really bothered me. I know I'm not ready when losing a stack bothers me.), lay it down.
