I'm never sure what to do in spots like this. No reads as I just sat down at table. Do you bet flop or c/r? c/f? c/c? What about when he calls? Do you call that small river bet? Ugh..

betting the flop is ok. But if he calls the flop just c/f. you are not beating anything on turn and river.

fold. you already turned your hand into a bluff with your turn bet, so you have 0 showdown value

I think you're right. That being said, do you take a different line earlier in the hand?

I give up on the turn because a diamond hit. When he calls flop I put him either on a pocket pair, flush draw, or slow played trips. I would be more inclined to double barrel the turn if it wasn't a diamond, but I think most of the hands we can put him on now beat us and there's not much reason to bluff an unknown in this spot. As played fold river.

Yeah that's a crappy turn, just give up then and save yourself the chips for a better spot.

Bluffing people at microstakes with NO READS is spew.

spew spew spew spew spew.

preflop is meh (i.e. not bad but not good either) cos we have no reads on postflop play and have no idea what our implied odds might be .

If you do call this preflop - and miss your set - just c/f flop.

I like a check/call flop. May be CR this turn/lead river is he checks behind.
