Villain is 15/9.1/3 after 40 hands. I have only seen him show down very strong hands, but I don't have any real reads yet. On flop, villain insta-shoved after the other player called, which led me to believe my TPTK was no good.

you have to call 6.40 and the pot is over $16 you call this every day IMO

call this all day. Um it's a 3bet pot, you got exactly what you wanted, and if they called a 3bet with K9, 66, or 99, that will hurt them more in the long run than you will be hurt by calling this push.

What am I beating? I'm up against KQ,KJ,K10 (unlikely). I am losing to AA, KK,99, 66 (more likely).

I really feal uncomfortable in exact this situations: TPTK, no draws are available and I get a (A) huge raise or (B) allin on the flop.

I started playing NL a few weeks ago, and I ve read somewhere not to play for stacks with just TPTK?

I feel really ashame in this situation when villain turns over his [censored] set on the River.

You have to call given stack size here. You're getting > 2:1 and hit TPTK in a reraised pot.

Exactly -- I've lost so much money with TPTK. Why is this a situation where calling was correct? Is it based only on pot odds? But here villain clearly is only playing better than average hands (small sample size, yes, but at 10NL you can get a good idea pretty quickly who the morons are), and then insta-shoves his hand after someone in front of him just smooth called a c-bet on a dry board. I think the best I'm hoping for here is AK, but the action indicates that I'm probably way behind.

So, TPTK is an easy allincall with 2:1 (in this case its even 3:1) or better? Where can I read more on this? I think I burn lots of money in these spots by: calling / folding in the wrong situations.

stever1k,

It depends on the situation. In this case, it's a 3-bet pot and we've isolated ranges pretty nicely; i.e. TPTK is pretty much the nuts here (given the type of hands people will call a 3-bet with). It would be a lot different if it was a limped pot and Hero just squeezed from the BB.

All,

I'm a huge nit, so I'm going to have to agree with OP here. The thing that makes a set so believable is the PF action: MP raises, Button calls, Hero 3-bets, MP calls, Button calls. He's getting pretty good implied odds to call with pocket pairs here.

Then the flop action... is he really going to try and 3-bet bluff here? Maybe if it was heads up and he's super aggro... but like OP said, what does Villain do this with that OP beats?

insta call, also for the love of god don't play nl10 on FTP. 10% rake is brutal
