Flopcall is probably close, not sure if I get ~7$ implied odds when I hit.
Without high showdown value on the River, give up the pot or try to steal as played in case villain played his (combo)draw this way and didn't hit? VIllain is unknown (50/25/1.25, 12 hands).

Flop call was not close at all. I fold on the flop, you had to know that villain was on a combo draw, whereas he could easily have a set and you will face a huge bet on the turn.

As played, villain pretty much tipped his hand when he made a bad turn bet so the call was fine. On the river, I would check behind. If you think he has a busted combo draw (and he didn't hit the 8) I think you will win this pot at showdown anyways.
