first off if i finsish 4th in another double shootout i might flip. but i have a math question and i have the answer but i do not know how to get it completely.

let P=(x,y) be a point on the graph of y=(xsquared^) -6

answer is all in square root box
d=x^4-11x^2+36

i understand how to get x to the fourth and 36 but where does the 11x squared come from i cannot solve this..

I take it you're talking bout the distance to (0,0).

d=sqrt[(x)² + (x²-6)²)] // Pythagoras
=sqrt[x² + x^4 - 12x² + 36]
=sqrt[x^4 - 11x² + 36]
