I'm travelling to Santa Fe for a week and need some help finding some decent poker in the area.

What I am especially looking for are 1/2 NL cash games (preferably with capped buyins) and non-smoking is a plus.

i know of 2 casinos so far from reading this board and google searches: cities of gold and Sandia

Sandia sounds better but alot further from where i'm staying. Any and all info about poker rooms quality, games/limits, players, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sandia, you won't be disappointed. For a long time, it was my favorite poker room in the world, and it was smoking (I'm a non-smoker, if this tells you anything!).

Sandia is probably your best bet. It is about 30 or 40 minutes south of Santa Fe. Poker room is non smoking now so for me that is a major plus. They usually have 1 or 2 NL games going nightly. NL games are fair to good. Can sometimes lean towards tight passive. You will usually find at least 1 or 2 calling stations though that will pay you off quite often.

Cool, i'll have to stop by Sandia for sure then. How's the rake at each poker room? I also saw Cities of Gold has some low buyin tourneys; how are they? Thanks for all the info!

Never been to CoG, but I go to Sandia twice a month from Amarillo. They now have a bad beat jackpot in all white chip games, so the rake is $4 per hand (including the $1 jackpot drop). Very very loose games. If you have other questions post or PM me.

If you are there the weekend of the 14th, I'll be there.

I'll be in town the weekend of the 14th also. Most likely $10/$20....

Does anyone know the tourney schedule Friday thru Monday? The web site has no info....

Sandia Casino, a mountain of fun!

Best poker room in the state...only 50 minute drive south from Santa Fe.

May see you there. Sup Bro?

They always have a tourney Sunday at noon, usually NL Hold'em.

Know of a WPT Satellite tourney in January? I usually play the Sunday tourneys, except Omaha....

No idea...funny thing is, I do not really play tourneys, but the 4 times I have there at Sandia, I have finished in the Top 10 3 times and the 4th time I finished 19th with an average field of 175 players...maybe I should play in more of them /images/graemlins/wink.gif We can find out this wknd about them.

See you there.
