Villain was almost impossible to read, he triple barelled with 44 on a K high board earlier, but also check called down my triple barrell with a flopped nut straight vs my set as if he couldnt read the board, aswell as various other strange moves postflop.

Do you agree with the turn check to keep the pot small and allow him to fire whiffed overcards on the river? And with this river do we have to call?

Looks good.

Yes to both questions imo.

No...bet the turn. Picking up that flush draw just skyrocketed your equity. You've got top pair, a gutshot straight draw, and a flush draw. Your opponent called pre-flop, check called the flop and checked the turn. Bet and take the pot down right here a lot. If he calls, checks the river, and you missed improving then check behind on the river.

As played call the river.

oh well...

Lego makes good points. You have to bet this turn.

Hopefully you've induced a bluff from villain and I probably would call river, with the read. Your hand is still weak and beats only a bluff imo. Should bet the turn as you'll have decent equity there with your redraw even against hands which are beating you at that point, bonus: it also charges him to draw. I like the idea behind checking to let him bluff, except he'll prob fire if he misses anyway and you really have no idea whether he did or not when you ch/call.
This might be kinda petty /images/graemlins/wink.gif but I'm a stickler for correcting friends on this too so...you don't actually have 'two pair' in a way that would makes it a semi-strong hand, it's still a pair of 7's with a crappy kicker. Sry if that's already uber obv to you, my mate still wants to go all in everytime he gets ''two pair' /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I am betting the turn here, we picked up alot more outs if we dont already have the best hand.
