View Full Version : 79s: river bluff?

I decided to call preflop with 79s in position, since we are 160 bb deep.

Villain is probaly a reg, running at about 18/13, but only 240 hands.

His line doesn't really make any sense. I can't really see him cr this board with an overpair, so the flop raise looks like a steal attempt.

Bluff river? In one way i can't see him calling with like AK, but on the other hand, he probaly knows that i wouldn't turn a weak hand (small pair) into a bluff by betting.

Maybe i am overthinking this, but would really like some comments on this hand.

I'd rather 3 bet pre if your gonna play this but meh. This looks to me like an overpair that shut down after you called the flop c/r. I highly doubt your pushing him off a hand like 1010/JJ with a river bet.
